I live like 5 minutes from kirn park..

and thats walking..

I live right by the south express way.
and kirn park is one of my regular spots.
there's some stuff here and there.

like the bleachers, there's some cool precision stuff..
and the playground is a pretty good one.
good for quick switches..

like the low platform distance jump to the underbar the monkeybars.. thats pretty cool..

I dunno gimme a call or a text sometime when you're headed up here, there and I'll meet up with ya guys..

si senor. The old Omni mall is now more or less a business park, but there are a few hand rails, a couple, ok quite a lot of sets of stairs, a parking garage made for the movies,
there really are a lot of high level stuff there.

Its on kanesville st. and in between main st and second st.

but there is a security guard or two.. but as long as you dont have a board with you, you should be fine.
just dont get out of hand..

but we all know that..

safe traveling.

My name is Clayton. I'm 23 and want to get into Parkour. I live in Bellevue NE and was wondering who lived around here that could teach me. I know that this is the Iowa thread, but I was wondering if there were anyone in Council Bluffs that could give me a hand.

Well I'm not sure how often this will get checked. but I do live in Council Bluffs, but due to legal restrictions I cannot get a license and it is therefor illegal for me to drive.. If you might be interested in a running buddy here in town, I'd love to show you a few places in CB.

I was paroooozing the the Nebraska board
I know I know..
but inb4 Cheater, and Redcoat.
Hear me out..
I live in Council Bluffs, and if you live in Iowa, you should know that Co Bluffs is right next to Omaha..
so Its natural to get curious...
ANYWAY.....

I saw a post on there that said HOT SPOTS..
so I checked into it.. it was rather new. nobody had posted anything in it..
SO I posted as follows::: (and thought it might be attention grabbing or pertinent for the eyes and minds of the fellow City Scapers here in Iowa)

I'm an iowa partron of parkour..
there are few of us.. but we are here..
Like there are a few school parks that a few of my friends and I here in CB trace..
Like Edison Elementary on 22nd and 2nd ave
or Franklin Elementary on 32nd and Ave C. (if you need help finding anything in CB shoot me a line)
If I'm not working I'd love to show you around..

There is an old mall turned business park (a bunch of offices and shit) that has some good stuff.
uh...
Trolley Park on 28th and Ave A and Ave B. wouldnt be too bad of a place, alot of smaller stuff.
Or the
Old Jubilee Loading dock on 28th and Broadway (the main street in CB) is a place that i have found myself at several times in the past few weeks.

a few churches One on 23rd st and ave b.
and the other on 25th and ave b
are both pretty good places if you're into rails...

Roberts park has picnic tables and equipment alot of stuff there for higher end and lower end runners.
thats on North 25th street.. like between ave K and M. (not 100% on the address, but its pretty easy to find)

Hmm.. Down in the central part of town there is Bayless Park (5th-6th street and 2nd-3rd avenues,,, square block of park) has some tables and benches and a pretty cool set up.
Some of the older buildings in that part of town have a few hand rails, and drops, and falls. its a pretty good spot for a point A.- Point B kind of run.

hmm..
St. Alberts Elementary School on 29th st and 9th ave has a few things.
Shit... come to think of it.. my end of council Bluffs has quite a few places that I trace.

Comprehensive list. Highlighted in Purple are my personal favorites.
SCHOOLS>

--Edison. Hand rails, Playground equipment, and Picnic tables. 22nd Street and 2nd Ave.
--Franklin. 2 sets of playground equipment, benches, and a few fences. 32nd and Ave C.
--St. Albert. Tire Mountain, Playground Equipment. 29th Street and 8th Ave.

PARKS>

--Roberts Park.
Tables, Benches, Playground equipment, Center Console building baseball fields. North 25th street.
--Bayless Park. Tables, Benches, BIG grassy areas, random scene. 5th-6th Streets and 2nd-3rd aves.
--Trolley Park. Spongy ground, thick gravel, random shaped equipment, lots of exposure. 28th st and Ave A-B.

CHURCHES AND RANDOMS>

--Holy Family Church. Great hand rails grass landing for 70% of jumps. 23rd st and Ave B.
--Cannot remember Church 2's name. Good set of rails, good for vaults, kong walls. 25th st and Ave B.
--Jubilee Loading Dock. Rails. Underbar capabilities. raised landings. 28th and Broadway.

This is by no means a complete list of what Council Bluffs has to offer to anyone, but its just a small list of whats on the west end.

Wow.. That took me quite a great deal longer than I thought it would.
Anyone care to add to it, its more than welcome.

Well it really depends on where in Nebraska you are, or are willing to go.

Like if you're willing to go to Omaha..
then you probably wouldnt mind crossing the river in Council Bluffs and I could show you a few places over here...

Or that huge park.. There are like 1200 square feet of playground..I cant think of the name of it.
but I was there for three or hours this summer,
Shit was crazy.
alot of low level. alot of higher level..
and a plus..

spongy ground.

I'm down for a jam anytime.
If I'm not workin.. I'm willing to show y'all around a few spots here in cb. or even a few spots that I know of in Omaha.

Either way. Yes.

Could do 30 to 50 Table ups..

It tears my abs and quads.

Table up.

flat footed you go to the end of a tall picnic table.
and jump up to the top of the table landing flat footed.
lather. rinse. repeat.

FAQ / Re: What shoes should I wear for Parkour?
« on: August 22, 2008, 07:09:46 PM »
Any sort of reebok basketball shoes are really good for everything that I do.

Or my current shoes Adidas Goodyear. Those are pretty good. .

Oh and Chucks, old school, and good for the ankle. Light weight, but it's really not good for shock absorbance..

One of my best friends wears steel toe boots, Dont do that.
Thats not productive,.
