You have the internet, and with it access to hundreds of videos and people that can help you learn almost anything you want.  Its how I learned.

Only thing that I see that you could easily tweak is your J-Flip Gainer.  You are a tallish guy (so am I) and it helps if we use all our advantages, we have the advantage of length.  You want to keep your legs and arms fully extended throughout the take off.  Kick that leading leg like no tomorrow, if you kick it hard enough you wont even need to tuck, it will swing you all the way around and it looks cleaner.

Parkour And Freerunning / Re: Sideflip landing problem
« on: November 17, 2015, 06:05:58 AM »
It is difficult to put into words.  You arent staying straight sideways which means one of two things.  Either your head is twisted when you rotate or your shoulders are slightly off axis.  I cant see your head very well so I am assuming that it is your shoulders.  The fix to this is simple but difficult to tweak.  Your back shoulder (not the one in front of you) is going to rotate over the one in front of you.  When you tuck your legs in you need to be sure that you are keeping your hips directly parallel with your shoulders.

If you suspect that it is in fact your head that is throwing off your rotation then you need to focus on keeping your head in line with your spine through the entire flip.  You create a spin my tilting your head in that direction.  You can turn your head to see the ground, but keep your neck in line with your spine.

I hope this was helpful.  Here is a video that demonstrates this idea a little bit.

The fault is in your tuck.  You need to tuck with the idea of bringing your opposite shoulder over the lead one.  You are kinda just tucking and doing a sideways front flip type format.  As Sebastian said, it is the same format as doing a side roll in the air.  If you want to break yourself of this habit start with side rolls on the ground, try to get it so only your shoulders are in contact with the ground.  Then get a friend and use his back and do the same higher and higher.  Then try and do the full sideflip over your friend at full speed.  In the end it comes down to control over your momentum while you are in the air.

Learning the front varies for everybody. It takes some an hour, takes some a year. It took me about a month of solid training.  Even then it wasnt perfect but practice and muscle memory is a slow process.  Once you know the front tuck you can pretty easily put that tucking motion into other tricks without too much extra training. Once again it varies for every person

Progress is progress and this is basically how I learned my front flips.  The biggest error I am seeing with your form is that you are throwing your chest down to create your rotation. This is killing your height.  You want to throw your front up and then tuck in a way that your chest doesnt get thrown to the ground, instead your hips is being thrown over your head.  If that makes any sense.  This is a video of a gym I go to and they word that concept allot better than I do.

If you choose to train the shin grab then you need to really pull your legs in.  When I first learned my webster and front flips I started with grabbing my shins but I found that my tuck was slipping early so I would open up too early.  If you run into this problem try it with grabbing under the legs.  Just my advice

Thanks and yeah I like the chest mount because when I flip it doesnt fly off.  I didnt know that a mouth mount was a thing. Ill look into it. Thanks!

Hands on the shins lets you get tighter if you can do it right, but I prefer on the hamstrings because its harder to mess up.

Im not expert (but I can webster) but one thing you could do to make it better is tuck harder. Grab your legs and dont let go. I found that helped me allot.

I like it, but youre right it is a little long.  Id fast forward more, try and get it around 10-15 min instead of 25. Thats just me though. Great idea though, I like seeing raw footage like that.
