Movement / Re: Balance training= meditative
« on: March 13, 2011, 08:36:48 PM »
i find that whenever i am about to start training at a spot i usually walk around first to get ideas of what i could do. i start thinking of flows, and moves that would be great to practice. but before anything i start with balancing on sumthing. idk why i just do. it puts me in a  calm mindset just like you said.

Parkour And Freerunning / Re: Where would you be without parkour?

id still be afraid of things. parkour helps me get over fear. i just relate real life experience to parkour. if something in life gives me doubt or fear i just think back to when i had doubt or fear of that precision gap on a high ledge that i knew if i failed id bust my nuts on the fence between it, or doing sumthing i havent done before and say "well if i did that then i can get threw this".

i think they should take those BS cardboard/plywood ramp things off. and have it to where you just jump off completely the edge of the building. also maybe a different setting, options of different brands of shoes, free roam.

Thanks alot.  :) The reverse vault i didnt know what i was And the garbage can was about the only thing i could find good enough to practice on. And since it being not very stable gives me better progression on light movements like you said.

Just last night i was training in the lowlight conditions. it was scary as hell at first but my eyes adapted. i was doing some things that you need accuracy to do and i was still landing them. i guess just let your eyes adapt naturally is the best or the headlamp idea. idk

Simple solution. Don't take drops like that. You still need strong legs to support the force while you transfer your momentum. There is a point in which your body takes a lot of force. If you haven't been training and conditioning very hard, your body isn't ready for those forces, hence your injury. Avoid anything over 4 feet for a while!
The reason why i want to take drops like the ones im doing is because i want to actually tell if my rolls are working which apparently not so Maybe i can still test them on lower heights. How long would you say i should stay on lower heights?? 1 week? 2 weeks? a month? (hope not)

Whoops. didnt mean for the last sentence to sound like i was insulting you or anything. i meant the only vault that works over an AC is a kong...maybe a dash also.
