Gorilla PK / Hey
« on: April 25, 2018, 04:33:37 AM »
Been gone a couple years. Seems to be a ghost town.
I?m back though. Training, older now and recovery takes longer.
Now I am teaching the next generation though.

Be safe all.

Gorilla PK / Aaron's Go-rilla Training Log
« on: November 21, 2009, 06:08:32 PM »
I decided to start this one up here for me. And If you guys wan't to contribute here, that is all the more awesome.
If we each make our own log, I have more to read at work, at it give us easier threads to look through, without the danger of all of us posting in one and it getting superlong. And I don't feel bad about tossing random thoughts in my own thread.

My goals (for now):
1. Continuing weight loss:
Not worried about the number so much, as not being fat.
2. Functional Strength Improvement:
There is always room for it. I can always do morepush ups,
      hold handstands longer
3. Improve my run times and endurance:
Break a 10 minute mile again and get past 4 miles. (been a long time 5 miler...i miss you)
4. Make time to work out, even on days without time (ie. push-ups at work if I have to)

11/20 (My Sunday)
Decided to step on the scale (wii-fit) as it had been a while, and I had
spent a while slacking off, after losing motivation. It appears I was able
to work myself up to 243 again, so I am back on the bandwagon. No more slacking off.

Did 35 minutes on the Wii-fit since I had it on (Yoga and Strength training), and noticed my scores were better than
when I was thinner. Go Figure. Then again, I can still do a set of 50-60 push ups at a shot.

Started cataloguing what I ate again, as that always worked for me.
Working on portion size and quality of food.

11/21 (my monday)
Technically I did not "work-out" today. What I did do was help
my father-in-law move a pile of lumber, and I ran between the pile,
and where the logs were (100m or so) for about 2 hours. I was also
in charge of using the log-grabbing thing to roll the logs. He used his tractor.
It was functional strength in practice.

I also practiced my precision jumps on the beams we were putting
the logs on. It was a 6' jump and I nailed 6 of them. Practiced tic-tacs off
of trees and other obstacles in between.

I wore myself out. Now I am on a 16 hour shift at work, so I think
tomorrow will be a rest day, since I only have 8 hours in between coming
home and going to work again.

So here is a new start. Nothing that was before matters, only what is ahead.
I declare 11/20/09 to be my PK start date, even though I first played around
with it in '05 when I was in the Marines, and more fit.

 11/20/09 is the rebirth.

Welcome! / New/ Saying Hello from Pa!
« on: November 14, 2009, 10:53:34 AM »
Hi Everyone,
Hrinda from Northeast Pennsylvania here. I am new to this, and the more I read on the site,
the more excited I become.

A little bit about me, I spent 7 years in the Marines, work in Law Enforcement now, I have a black belt in
Tang Soo Do, and as I spent time getting back into running,
just running wasn't doing it for me.
So I started going over stuff instead of around,
and it led me here.

Thanks for making this site!
