Get someone to film you while you try your flips, often seeing yourself you can see where you are going wrong

I shop in the men's side for my sneekers. Just go with what fits you best, so long as it isn't pink or sparkly it shouldn't matter
My parkour teacher wears woman's ankle socks just because he loves the way they fit

For what class? Economics, social studies? I'm not sure you could get a product out of a diet experiment that's already well known, unless you want to start selling packaged, or pre prepared meals catered to a Paleo diet (it would be a chalange)

Not bad, I liked how you mixed shots of your friend with your own stunts. We're you using a harness mount or a helmit mount the overhead shot looked very smooth

Perhaps look in the work shoe isle, they now have dressy ones and not all are stealtoe. Look for ones labeled "slip resistant"

ive been doing a lot of cardio, down side i dont have a scale so i have no idea if ive lost weight, but running and lots of movement are a lot easier than they where a couple weeks ago, pants are a little looser too. At thi rate i should hit my goal of 170 lbs by summer

A scale can be deceptive because mustle wheight more per square inch than fat does. By training you'll be putting on mustle as well. Get a tapemesure and record the inches around your waistline

Diet / Nori sandwiches
« on: January 11, 2012, 12:43:08 PM »
I had a clever idea to replace bread with a idea I took from sushi
Sorry for the crappy iPhone video, it was a spur of the moment idea to film it while I was making them. I may set up a better video next time I make a batch
Two things I have learned after making the vid is: Don't freeze the nori sandwiches, for some reason the rice dries out, and 2 add more meat

It may just be something in the brand of fish oil you were using. Perhaps try a different brand of liquid oil

I'm not from the states. But I'd recommend Seattle, I've visited that city several times and I adore it. I hope to visit their parkour gym next time I go

Consumer Whores / Re: Gymnastic Mats, which and where to buy?

I've been looking at this site. http://www.norberts.net/
I wouldn't recommend getting a crash mat unless you got allot of space. It usually takes two people to move the crash mat at our gym

Diet / Re: White / Wheat Bread Dilemma
« on: December 24, 2011, 01:09:45 AM »
I heard a idea a few days ago and I thought "Now why didnt I think of that?"

Substitute bred with Nori, the seaweed wrap used for sushi. On its own it's actualy pretty tasty. So I can't see why instead of a tortilla use a Nori wrap instead

Diet / Why does everything contain Sugar?
« on: December 24, 2011, 12:58:51 AM »
I lost quite a few pounds following a diet that reccomended that you only injest 15 grams of sugar a day with 1 cheat day where you can go nuts
The problem is everything contains sugar, or worse yet chemical sweeteners which have their own issues. Two slices of even multi grain bread could use up a third of your daily intake of sugar, a cup if milk can do the same

Has anyone else tried this diet and have tips to help along?

For my tips I make my own iced tea with stevia for a sweetener, or use one of those teas with dried fruit to reduce the need of sweetness

Vannilla is a awesome sweetener with no calorie attachment just a little replaces the need for sugar

I'm thinking of using nori for making sandwiches, it's good for sushi and packs a nutrient punch that flatbread lacks

Injuries - Discussion / Re: Shoulder Tendonitis
« on: December 23, 2011, 03:48:17 PM »
I had torn tendons in the shoulders from a car accedent. After months of PT I wasn't getting better, my PT reccomended a experimental treatment. I had to get a second opinion before getting sent to Prolotheripy
Since its experimental, it wasn't covered by healthcare, I had to pay out of pocket for it. Thankfully the car insurance decided to reimburse me and add it to what they were going after the other driver to pay
It's painful, after each treatment I was laid up for a entire week. But it works very well, I'm back to 99% of what I had before the accedent
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prolotherapy

Not everyone is a good candidate for this. You will have to talk to both your. PT and your regular doctor

I'm 35 and I started a year ago. There is no right age to start to get healthier and more awesome. Though the younger you are the better

There should be a gym or two on board. Even if you can't practises parkour you could still stay fit. Think of it as a exuse to get your conditioning in

Socialize / Re: Does anyone knows how to season a steak?
« on: May 27, 2011, 10:17:05 PM »
The best way to season a steak is marinating it.
You can make your own marinade pretty easily.
You need a acidic, a sugar, then spices. The acidic can be alcohol, vinegar or a citric like orange juice. My preferred sugar is brown. for spices you can add almost anything from soya sauce, Heinz 57, Worcestershire sauce and of course traditional spices like garlic and peppers.

Once you have your marinade to your tastes put it in a Ziploc with the steaks get as much of the air out as possible and let sit in the fridge for a day or two.

A good basic marinade for steak is Beer or wine, brown sugar, garlic, pepper and I like adding in a hot pepper sauce. not too much it's just to give the steak a little extra kick
