Nothing really screws with a training schedule quite like the rain. Not much to do except workout indoors.

Anybody have any good tips?

I'm going to be in STL over the long weekend if anyone wants to train.

LOL okay then, no taking your advice.

And 10 mins is actually pretty impressive for a film. Are we sure 1 weekend is enough to get it all done?

And just throwing this out there... I'm willing to do anything. I have some pretty decent video training, and I can do anything from graphics/animations to edits to voiceovers to BLAH. Also, my video teacher actually does parkour, so maybe I could get him out to the jam and see what he has to say. Or something.  ;D

One weekend shouldn't be a problem, though the weather could be... Senior Murphy could ruin everything.

SOCIALIST!

Anyways... I think we're starting to over-think it a bit... What's the maximum length we want this movie? 30 minutes? 120? 180? We should figure this out and scale production accordingly.

Robberto and the Robot (See above) clocked in at 40 minutes and took three weekends (Fri-Sun) 50+ hours each weekend. (150 Hours Plus pickups...) Roberto was also lax on the action, which means this will take longer to film.

10 minutes is a decent length for a short film.

First off, I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade.

Second, I am willing to help with these things.

Third, a quick resume:
I am at Missouri State University, studying Mass Media with a minor in screenwriting.
Projects:
True to Life, PA (Small indie project, Summer 2008)
Roberto and the Robot, Producer (MSU Senior Thesis, Spring 2009)
Paradiso, Script Supervisor/ (Small indie project, Summer 2009)
Scream House, Assistant Production Designer (Small indie Project, Summer 2009)
Dreemor, Producer (MSU Senior Thesis, Fall 2009)

Fourth, Issues I have found

1. There is no clear command structure. This is the biggest issue by far. A producer and a director and a writer are needed. Together they work on the art style of the film. It seems like this project is locked into Denver, late July early August. If the producer doesn't live in Denver an Assistant Producer will be needed who does live there to act as a man on the spot, (Film Permits, talking with local business ect.).
--From a quick glance it appears that Denver does require permits.

2. There is no script. On any other production this would be the major issue, but it's zombies and people running from zombies. That said a script is still needed. There is some wonderful Script writing software here. (It's free.)
Some quick industry standards.
One page = One minute of film
Four pages can be shot in an eight hour day.
Earlier it was stated that this was to be done in a weekend. Assuming that's the case it would mean that the max script length should be 12 pages (I would shoot for 8-10 in the event of needed re-shoots)

There are a few more, but they are extremely minor compared to the above two. They are things like equipment, make-up, ect.

As I said above I am willing to help with this project, and I am planning on going to the COPK National Jam so I will be in Denver at the time.

Good Luck
