Movement / Rolling help?

When you put your hands on the ground to start to tuck into the roll are you suppost to slow yourself down using your arms and gently land on the back of your shoulder? I am rolling on the back of my shoulder and it hurts when i make contact with the ground so maybe i'm coming down too hard.

take gymnastic classes if you can. It's the best way to learn. i've seen what people learn from it and with extra practice you can make a name for yourself free running.

Parkour And Freerunning / On your own or with help?

Well it just seem so much harder to practice parkour on your own, especially if you're new to it. I'm new and I don't really know where to start. I'm also curious to see how many of you have learned parkour from practicing other sports, martial arts, etc. or have had other traceurs help you train. I've had no experience from other sports or anything and needs lots of help. I know that you should start with practicing and mastering rolls and landings. What is another technique i should learn that will protect me from injuries if i mess up or just jump off of something.
