Parkour And Freerunning / Outstanding
« on: October 27, 2009, 10:07:45 AM »
I just got an email from a new guy asking for help about a specific topic.... I asked around some of my old buddies to see if they wouldn't mind helping him out since I don't live in the region anymore. This sparked a curiosity about how APK is doing, since I've been both working like mad and have moved around the state a lot, and I must say that some of these new improvements are very exciting. The leave no trace-FANTASTIC! The resorces for instructions and networking-DOUBLE AWESOME! If i had more time I would try to get back in the flow of things. But I just felt like saying how much I enjoyed returning to this site after such a long time.

Keep on flowing.

Michigan / Guess who's back and outta shape?
« on: January 04, 2008, 07:50:32 AM »

Its been too long and time has not been kind.  But besides that, I'm back.  Need to condition, train, and get back into the swing of things.  I've moved to brighton so if there is anybody out that could help an old timer...  :D

I hear that Ann Arbor is the spot to be, any weekly training going on down there?

In the Media / What and what not to say...
« on: November 23, 2006, 04:57:46 PM »
I've noticed that there isn't a topic about how to go about describing parkour the media.  Personally, I've spoken to a few reporters and, once having read the article, wished that I could have said a few things differently.

How does one go about describing parkour?  About explaining the principles of flow, A to B, most efficient movement, or the influences that made parkour?

What I hope to gather here is a colaberation of ideas on what to say and what not to say.

Michigan / Michigan Scene: What would you like to see?
« on: July 19, 2006, 09:00:21 AM »
What is it about the michigan scene that we like?  What is there that we dislike?  What needs improvement?  What needs to progress?

in the cases off all these things only we, the traceurs, can decide what needs to improve, what needs fixing.

Personally, I'd like to see my local community get their butts out and train more.  I know that life takes precedent.  That certion things are unavoidable.  But that doesn't mean you can't make an effort.  After this weekend, I will be out training four days of the week and I will post what I worked on or trained on those four days.

I'd like to see the michigan community progress continously.

I'll get off my soap box now and find out what everybody else would like to see imporoved.

Is there any way that APK could somehow connect its member's profile or whatnot directly to their Training Journals so that they and only they could update them even though the rest of the site is in lockdown?  I tend to forget some of the things I've accomplished or wish to accomplish over that dreaded 48 hours.

I would like to extend an invitation to you and your fellow Traceurs to the Wednesday, May 31st 7:30pm screening of District B-13 at the Maple Art in Bloomfield Hills. If you let me know how many are in your group I can have my screening rep save you seats.

We need to give her a number of people and names by tuesday.  So far monkey and Dalton have reserved seats in my pk-mobile.  I might have a full car.  Let me know asap who's going.  Since I'm still in DC, Aim and other instant messengers are out of the question.  Email me at or just post it here.  Sorry for the short notice.

After looking at the tutorial, myself and the "midgets" fixed a lot of the flaws in our techinque.  I propelled myself really far.  I'd guess...about 6-7 feet and the younger guys hitting close to there too.  It was awesome.

Socialize / Gyms...oh yeah.

Parkour And Freerunning / Let's split up, Gang!
« on: February 19, 2006, 09:53:21 AM »
From my experence, jams usually have the participants kept together.  The toronto jam though, split us up (understandable for such large numbers).  I was wondering how a jam would differ if they were split up into little groups...  Any thoughts?

Its been really dry here and winter, I'd say, is pretty much over.  We need to have a jam.  Maybe one in march?  Would that work out for the The Movement?

I'd even go as far as hosting one here.
