Week of April 7-11

Led a canoeing trip with 4-5th graders..canoed every day..even broke a sweat one day when we had to chase down some kids who got blown across the lake by the wind :)

Last weekend:
Helped coach beginner class, worked on tic-tacs and wallruns.
Intermediate class was smaaalll! We drilled vaults and many, many precisions.
Skipped jam to run errands (no comment) but got a late jam in near our house playing on the bars.

Back out climbing!!! 1st time in 6 months!!
Brenda led a proud 5.7+ (Very hard for the grade) and also followed a 5.9 crack my buddy climbed...felt good even though I smashied my fingers on the bars the night before.

I hadn't played for years and years until I spied a 3.5 ed. players handbook in my cousin's bag one day. Then I was right back in!

I played quite a bit when I lived in Boston but not so much now that I moved.

So I started a D&D club at the school I teach I get paid to DM!!!!

I've been running the kids through the "Age Of Worms" campaign (from Dungeon magazine) and they are having a blast!!!

D20 FTW!!!

COPK classes in Boulder today. Since I had been away a while I decided to participate more than coach today.

Beginner class: Underbars, 360 underbars, coached pullovers. Worked with youger kiddo on underbars. Had fun

Intermediate: vaults over a bar (which scare me so bad for some reason...probably because if my hand slips I am going to fall in an uncomfortable sort of way) more underbar and 360 underbar work. Also practiced a lot of polecats (cat leap to pole) and spins around poles you know...stripper work. Did as much of the workout as I could (I am sick..AGAIN!) finishing with 4 long laps of QM..not fun.

After class we jammed at CU..a bunch of Ft Collins folk came down...saw Logan for the first time since National Jam! Just worked myself and had fun  :)
Oh, also found a really excellent climbing challenge on a mostly blank wall!!

Now I am sore and ready for some food!!!

Spring Break:
1 Yoga Class
1 pilates class (has NOTHING over parkour class!!!)
1 day lifting
2 days squash
7 days sipping rum drinks and eating rich food

Tues 4/1
HIIT sprint workout
4 mins of 30 sec sprint, 30 sec walk

Wed 4/2

Trying to get back on a pullup regimine...
I realized something today...on my home bar (hangs loose from rope and rotates) I can only do about 1 set of 6 bodyweight pullups.
This is kinda depressing and leads me to avoid the pullup bar like the plague.
SO...I'm going back to what worked when I first started parkour: assisted pullups.
With my feet on a ladder under the pullup bar I can do many more reps and still allow for a lot of weight on my arms. I'm also putting my feet high enough so I can pull to below my nipples. (Something that I feel has been hindering my muscle-ups as I can't get that last inch or so out of my pullup)
Tonight: 65 pullups: 5 bodyweight, 60 assissted

Initial response to the experiment is good!! I still got a mean pu
mp and got to really focus on form.  :D :D

sorry brother...we are leaving town Friday for spring break....

<Looks around for anyone else that may be home this weekend>

Do you have your own transport? If noone steps up to house you..there are some decent hostels and/or camping near Boulder/Denver.....

Just a thought...sorry the timing is off.

SO painful, SO rewarding, SO fun, SO worth it!!

Went back and ran through a pretty classic gauntlet setup...worked everything...felt awesome!!!

I definitely screamed and grunted a bit on some of the exercises...but got through the whole thing w/o skipping anything

Maybe it really is just the sun coming back :)

Yay!!! So cool Muse!!!

I didn't see this post earlier or I would have been vibing away at you guys!!!

We have a pretty good S&S going here with our kids class and I'd be happy to share what we've learned so far as well as learn from your process about working city-wide.

That is so cool!!! Congratulations!! Let's talk :)

If you want a good media manager and don't want to go the itunes route..I recommend Media Monkey.

It's free, useful, is a podcatcher, can normalize volumes over multiple tracks, grab album art etc....

As far as getting a song/video into a different format...there are tons of programs out there that can help you convert from one file format to another....

Use google or the search function at to find .ogg to .flac converter or somewhat.

Then you don't have to deal with the whole copyright messiness.   :)
