Hope the facebook link works. I'll put it on youtube soon.

Pics & Vids / Quick favor. Run videos
« on: March 10, 2009, 09:07:13 AM »
Hey guys. I'm looking for a small collection of videos that feature a skillfull traceur(s) moving through the environment at a high speed, continuing the momentum. I for the life of me cannot think of any said videos, though I am sure there are many, I just cannot recall them. If anyone has some in mind, please post them! Greatly appreciated.

So, I was staying up until 3:30am to watch the men's final of the Australian Open (tennis), and at about 2 I was like.. hmm.. I'm doing nothing, I should do something.

So I filmed this! Enjoy. If you use Youtube, which you shouldn't, since vimeo is better, use HD!

Socialize / ..It's... 'Precision'!!!!!!

Warning. This is a rant.

I've now seen hundreds and hundreds of people who spell the word "precision" like "percision".

This isn't even the proper pronunciation, let alone spelling!

It's... "Precision". Got it?!

Florida / Visiting Naples/Bonita Springs Jan 21st!
« on: January 15, 2009, 09:01:48 PM »
Hey guys! I'm spending a week in Florida to escape the cold Pennsylvania weather and visit some friends. I'll be staying at an apartment type place with my family for a week, the 21st of January to the 28th. I'll have practically no transportation, as I cannot yet drive a rental, and we're not taking a car. But if anyone is around that area hopefully I can meet up with someone and see some of the spots before I return to the snow.

Please hit me back asap. Phone: 484-550-8719

After a year in Hawaii, I'm still adjusting to having cold hands and ears in 30 degree weather, but I do my best to get out there anyways. ;)

Hope you enjoy my training process as much as I do.

I believe the sound is off on youtube, so here's a facebook link.

(watch in HD, of course)

Pics & Vids / Question!
« on: January 05, 2009, 10:53:04 PM »

Part 5 of the One Family video series..

I'm quite confused. These guys are Austrian, right? Cuz a couple of the guys in here look.. Australian.

I took a trip to Sydney, and got to train with a guy named "Ish". He looks like Frosti. Asian guy. I could almost swear that's him, at 2:30. Plus, I think I see a shirt that says "ESCAPE", which, unless I'm mistaken, is the famous Australian parkour video. Which.. features a guy with long blond hair.... who also appears everywhere in this Part 5!

Is this a coincidence or am I missing something? Anyone have any idea?

Socialize / Happy New Year Everyone!

I hope this year brings everyone plenty of fun, plenty of skills, plenty of experience, and as few injuries as possible. Take care, all.

Injuries - Discussion / In step pain?
« on: December 28, 2008, 09:41:38 AM »
I have a question for everyone.

As of recently, I started getting more and more pain in the instep of my foot, when the foot gets flexed too far upwards. This especially happens on cat leaps and backflips, where the ankle takes a lot of the force. It started out not being a big deal, but now it happens when I skip a step on the stairs, when I land on one foot off a vault. It's become a serious bother. Any idea what happened, and how I can fix it?

Hey guys.

I just finished a project for my Martial Arts school. I wanted to put together a video for the school's website to give people something fun, entertaining, and impressive to look at. Please let me know what you think. I've still got a week to work on it, so I'm very open to suggestions.

Pics & Vids / Advanced Roll Tutorial: Variations

After seeing all those topics on rolling, I figured someone needed to make this. Here it is. This should cover most people's problems.

Socialize / Facebook in HD!
« on: December 10, 2008, 09:04:10 AM »
I uploaded one of my videos just recently, and noticed they have a new feature on facbeook! After you click play, on the top right is a "watch in high quality" option! It's like vimeo or anything else. Absolutely perfect quality. I was stunned. All HD compatible videos on Facebook now have a little "HD" symbol next to them. Just thought I'd let you guys know!

On the side, anyone know how to make a facbeook video viewable to people without facebook accounts? Because I like the facebook player better than any of the others.

Pics & Vids / Parkour is FUN
« on: December 05, 2008, 07:59:41 AM »
On a chilly morning me and Will decided to get together and do some training. There's nothing impressive in this video, just some pure fun. After all, that's what it's all about ;)

Pennsylvania / Eastern PA: Allentown/Bethlehem/Philly
« on: December 04, 2008, 11:35:31 AM »
Hey guys. Adam McC here. I'm working on organizing a local community to train with. Me and me friends in Emmaus/Allentown are running out of spots, and I'm sure there's tons, we just don't know about them. If we could have an expansive community out here, we could do jams around all the different cities and explore some brand new spots, meet some brand new people.

So if you're anywhere near Eastern PA, drop your number in here, let's get some people together, and with any luck we can be jamming together in no time.

Simple, but one of the best training videos I've seen in a while.

Consumer Whores / Feivue shoes?
« on: November 07, 2008, 11:32:12 AM »
About 2 weeks ago, I ordered some Feivue shoes for my martial arts training. A few days ago I noticed someone wearing them in a parkour video. And then I watched the Texas Parkour interview and saw them again!

Now, I wear these daily, they are somewhat grippy, but they seem to have absolutely no cushion. Not to mention being pretty bad in the durability area.

Maybe I'm just out of the ring here, but why are these suddenly popular? I bought them without even thinking of using them for Parkour, I would never think of using them. My curiosity pushes the question, why is everyone using them?

Here's a video of my first traveling mainland jam! Hope you like it. I tried to include as much as I could without making the video too repetitive. These guys are really awesome, by the way. Super friendly, very honest. Thanks a lot, fellas.

I didn't get any filming done of the 30 minutes we spent conditioning, which gave me flashbacks to Ozzi's jams. Great job with the conditioning.

Parkour And Freerunning / Parkour. Are we a team?
« on: October 23, 2008, 09:21:28 AM »
I just finished watching the Memorial day Expo video, part two. And it truly opened my eyes.

I suggest you watch this video, please. Especially the ending part, the classroom discussion.

There are hundreds, it seems, of parkour clubs, groups, teams, and clans. If not thousands, throughout the US. They call themselves Hawaiipk, or texaspk, or (insert abbreviation of city)pk. Tons of them, around the country. But we have no specific hierarchy at all. It's just each group, and that group has it's little team leaders. The PKGen guys in this video bring up a good point. We have no group coordination at all. We have no experienced traceurs who work together as a team to provide instruction and guidance for the entire United States traceur community. It seems like in order to get some good Parkour instruction, in person, we have to make our way to a jam that has someone from the UK in it. Stephane, Forrest, people like that who travel the world. Even though we have some incredibly skilled American traceurs.

Obviously APK here is great, but this is little more than an online community. The people who run APK are not capable of running everything they do, media, advertising, and the basic positive spreading of Parkour.. plus the responsibility of controlling and teaching the US in cities throughout the world. Our states are very easy to get to. It's harder for UK people to jump across countries to be in France, London, etc, than it is for us to drive across the states and host big jams.

Not that this is something we can do overnight, but I'd like people to start thinking about uniting as one community, not a whole bunch of different individual groups. We take American people dedicated to parkour, the kind like Stephane V, Danny I, Forrest and other PKGen guys, get our own Americans, and wander the states gaining support and growing the community as one.

Think about it this way. We all want to spread parkour as a positive thing throughout the US. If we're all in small groups, each group with different philosophies, beliefs, and reasons, how can the common public understand us? If from one "team" they hear that parkour, or freerunning, is a sport that is about getting from A to B as quickly and efficiently as possible, and from another "team" they hear that Parkour is not a sport, it's a way of life, an art and a mindset which you apply to the world around you to make yourself better, and that freerunning is something more free, fun, and you make make a living off it in the media. No wonder we get all these bad articles and people confused about what we do. Because we have no universal agreement on what it is that we do. And since there's no hierarchy, there's nobody telling people what they should or shouldn't do, give or take a few youtube videos and tutorials. So here we have thousands of groups doing their own thing, not conditioning, jumping off roofs and trespassing, half of them creating chaos.

I think it's time we start organizing what we have.

Pics & Vids / Stillness through Movement

Well, I moved from Hawaii to Pennsylvania a few months ago, and finally found the time (and the weather!) to make a video. It's not long, but I think it's pretty chill. Feedback greatly appreciated.
