I contacted K Swiss and the only colors available are what's left. They are discontinuing the Ariake. I'm saddened as this is my favorite shoe.

Get yours  while they are still on the shelves.

Socialize / Does someone have this photo saved?

I like to update my background a lot. And this photo really stuck out to me. It just grabs me. I dunno. But the link is broken. Does anyone have a larger version of this photo or any other super cool PK photo for a background? I have a pic from UFF right now and I really want to use this one now.

Socialize / The Video Game Thread
« on: April 21, 2009, 12:16:21 PM »

So I was just checking my email this morning and I got an email from my brother who is in college in Utah (I'm in college down in Lousiana) and he sent me an email that said, "I know you only bought a video game system because of Mirror's Edge, but it's a good thing you got an Xbox 360 cause you're gonna wanna buy this game too."

The trailer is pretty tight, I don't know much about it but what I do know is that you only use Parkour to get around. Sounds kinda cool to me.

Parkour And Freerunning / Starting a club on campus.
« on: April 07, 2009, 02:52:18 PM »
If this should be in a different section please move it and I apologize for putting it here.

Ok guys. I know how to start a club at my campus but the thing is you need to have so many members. I go to a southern college (Louisiana Tech) so it's much harder for me to convert people to this awesome discipline because all people seem to care about here is getting in shape and looking good but doing nothing with it.

I was wondering to some of you guys who started PK clubs at your college or school. What did you do to get people interested and how? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks for your time guys.

Louisiana / Ruston/Monroe/Shreveport Traceurs: Team Emperor
« on: February 03, 2009, 07:08:36 AM »
What's up Louisiana Traceurs? My name is Kyle Rudolph, or Kyper if you prefer. I am originally from Oakland, CA and when I was older I moved to Fayetteville, AR where I started doing Parkour and founded a PK Clan called Emperor ( Originally, it started out as a motorcycle racing team which it still is, but has also evolved into a PK Clan and now currently identified more so by the later. I am a Freshmen here at Louisiana Tech and I was wondering if anyone would like to get together to train because I am not very good simply training by myself. I am also hoping to expand the team down here and I hope that we have a lot of Traceurs here!

So if there are Traceurs in this area please respond. I would really like to train with you guys.

Parkour And Freerunning / Balance
« on: February 03, 2009, 06:50:43 AM »
Woah, have not been here in a long time. Dang. This place got a lot bigger.

Dunno if anyone remembers me at all (except maybe the guy I had an epic karma war with) but awhile ago about last June/July I posted a topic in here about burning out on Parkour. I didn't think such a thing was possible and I was right. But still something happened that I did not want to happen.

Well I took a little time off from PK to try and do my other passion's, while all the time trying to figure out why I had lost my passion for Parkour. And then it hit me in the middle of a corner, kneedragging on my motorcycle at about 110. It was because I had left out something when I had thought of the topic. When I started becoming a traceur I was in High School and I had my best friend Brad with me to do PK. We started training together. Going to the gym every day and training and helping each other with dieting and just learning about the amazing world Parkour brought to us. I remember I was so into PK I would be studying one night and then just have to go out and vault over some stuff before going back in to study. I really loved it. Well I left for college at the end of the year I started PK and came down to Louisiana and couldn't find anyone to PK with around here. I couldn't find a new Brad to train with and I like to train with people. I hate training by myself. And it was this one factor that made me lose interest in Parkour after doing it for about a year. I posted a topic in here and Ozzy gave me the advice that PK just wasn't for anyone because to truly live it you had to love it and I thought that might be the case for me. But all it seems is that I just can't stay focused when I train by myself but that is not the only inhibitor: I cannot find balance. I am a motorcycle roadracer and a pilot in addition to PK. And last time I was here I was trying to plot a cross country flight to get Ozzy to the mainland (still working on it man!). Motorcycles have always been a very big thing to me but I really want to get back into PK. Not a day has gone by that I don't look at an obstacle or a building and think about how I could tic tac to 180 cat up it or turn vault over a rail and drop and roll. So I've been trying to get back into it. Parkour is still in my blood but for some reason I am having trouble balancing it with my other activities.

Can anyone give me some advice? How do I find balance. I just cannot seem to balance PK but I love PK and do not want to give it up again.

Pics & Vids / Nifty photo stuff

So yeah, I've been on this forum for a little bit now and I have found some photo's the really speak to me. I've also seen a lot of signatures that are really inspirational to me and truly encourage me to improve as a traceur.

So these aren't hard to make at all but I enjoy them. I hope you guys will as well.

Not my photo but it looked good for the words.

Again, looked good for the words.

My friend took this photo with his cellphone when we were in Memphis for a band trip when I was in High School. I have always liked it despite the horrible quality. I got the words from a signature I saw on here that truly made me fall in love with Parkour.

I know they're all black and white. But it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Love 'em, hate 'em. Don't care I made 'em.

Parkour And Freerunning / Burning Out?
« on: June 02, 2008, 02:48:59 PM »
My name is Kyper, and I think I'm burning out on Parkour.

This happened to me with Cars and Paintball, BMX, and Skateboarding before.

I dunno why but lately...I've just been uninterested in Parkour or Free Running. I've been spending a lot of time on my Motorcycle (which is the one thing I can seem to stay with through all of this) and I just am uninterested.

Has this happened to anyone else? Has anyone else ever felt like they were just tired of PK? I don't know why I feel like this but I don't particularly like it. I wanna stay with Parkour but can't seem to get motivated like I used to.

Any suggestions?

Socialize / The Never Ending Story
« on: April 29, 2008, 06:52:49 PM »
I'm surprised you guys we haven't gotten one of these yet.

This is a thread game I've played on a lot of forums. Basically what you do is I'll start the story and you guys each add on a sentence to keep it going on. The story goes on forever and after about 15 pages it's kinda funny to look at the first post and see what is at the end. But like the word association game, it doesn't end. The story can be about anything lol. I've seen stories start in a math classroom and after awhile it gets to Jesus fighting Zeus on Mars. It's very interesting. It's also fun to throw in Forum members to make it funnier

Well let's start one.

One day Ozzi went out to train when....

I was training today and I went by some of the old spots I used to PK at. I had hit every line in those places and PK'd them dry. As I stopped to look at the places I see some of the younger, just starting out traceurs doing the exact same things I did when I began. I know all of the kids because they're all part of my clan. I went over and jammed with them a little and after I was done I realized something that kinda made me smile, these lines which had seemed so hard back when I started were now incredibly easy. I look at these small precisions and walls that I used to climb and I am just amazed at how easy they seem. What I'm asking here is that have any of you guys ever gone back to the places you started at? The place where all the "hardcore" lines used to be until you got better and had to leave your little PK sanctuary to go out and find better challenges because the old ones just didn't challenge you anymore? It just amazes me at how once you do something in PK over certain obstacles you can do it over them almost all the time without much fear. It amazes me at how I, and all traceurs have progressed with our art.

Have you guys ever done that? Have you ever gone back to where you started and done all your old lines and been amazed at how easy they seem now? Have any interesting stories about how you started and where you started and how you progressed?

Edit by M2: Great thread! Give it a great title!! "Have you ever?" - doesn't cut it :)
