Parkour And Freerunning / Re: Parkour Shoe Concepts
« on: February 24, 2009, 09:18:35 PM »
I'm a huge fan of Nike, and Nike's BRS1000 Carbon rubber, as I know a lot of traceurs are. Don't change that!

As for the support in the shoe, it would be great to have some high density foam on the inside of the foot. I know that this is great for knee support, as well as shock absorption.

Nice! That shot of the man power gap was terrible, but I'm sure he handled it well.

Hey man great job for your first few months! Like you said, really focus on your climb ups. Watch the Demon Drill for extra instruction ( Make sure you're conditioning a lot in the first months of your training, and don't be hesitant to take things slow. Proper conditioning and thorough, disciplined progression is key in the early months and throughout your whole life as a traceur! I emphasize this because I have recently sustained a knee injury from over training it.

Anyways man, nice work. Keep it real. Keep it flowin.

OH YES! This just made my night boys! When is opening night? What are the days and hours going to be?

*strong wedge mat for wall trick training
*lots of rail precision trainers with height variations. Maybe some permanent ones for Kong-Precisions etc.
*Foam covered ledges and rails for precision work, etc. (example, sideflip precisions...)
*vault blocks that won't F you up if no one is holding them down

But just some suggestions. I'm simply happy for this project to take off.

Hey everyone,

Instead of the typical Cat Fountain meeting place this week, we'll be meeting a little further uptown at the Denver capitol building at about 4:00 (the gold dome...). I hope to see everyone there!

The Nike Tri-D has BRS-1000 on it. At about $50 I have to say this is the best PK shoe I have ever owned.

I should add that Feiyues as well as other wushu 'sneakers,' to your advantage, take away the padding of the typical running shoe. While you may think that this would be a detriment to your training, it is in fact, an investment in your overall body condition. Impact thresholds can be pinpointed much more accurately as a result of the low padding, you are forced to move at a more genuine pace in training, etc. Indeed, Feiyues and BLT's (I personally like guacamole on my sandwiches) can be invaluable when used properly.

This is true. Feiyue's slow your training down. I trained in them every other day and then for a whole week and when I went back to my Nike's I felt like a gorilla.

Ya I say we do it the first weekend of FEB. That gives everyone two weeks from this Saturday to clear their schedules, etc.

As much as I am in love with Boulder right now, I really want to show you guys some cool new spots I've found around Denver. Hopefully, Bama, Lorin and Eli can come too. I'll call 'em up.
