Made this while waiting for a download.

Let me know if you can think of a better subtitle or poster in general ;)

Sometimes when im at a jam i'll use parkour to get somewhere. (ex: Store, Food, etc) Other than that theres not really a need for me to run from point A to B. I'll still vault a rail while walking down the street instead of going over it.

(We all know we are secretly training to be NINJAS and we call it Parkour to keep the goverment off our backs  ;D )

Pics & Vids / Progression - Kind of funny
« on: July 09, 2008, 11:50:42 PM »
I found an old clip I made back when I was trying to learn the diving kong.

You can view it here :

Its funny watching it but it also shows how progression works. Slowly working your way up to the move is key.

And if you look closely, you can see where I fall.  :D

Wow... I now feel like an idiot lol. Okay Mark is right.

One of the best ways to improve something is by doing it, learning what you can do to make it better, then do it some more.

I agree with Matt (Although 24 inches may be too low for some people)

Don't forget that there's more than one aspect to this!

First off is the landing. Believe it or not there is a technique for straight landing in parkour. It helps to suppress the momentum and direct it away from your legs. Master this technique while practicing what M2 said and see if it helps.

Also, theres diet. What you eat can strongly reflect on joint and muscle strength. Try to keep up on your vitamins and calcium. Being healthy not only helps this, but overall body development.

My two cents  ;)

Hanging backflip to precision?

Did I see that?

Ask Ozzi if he has a tutorial. HI PK always has great tutorials.

It might be a height issue. Everytime I see someone do a double kong their legs are above their head during the intial dive.

I went to the local high school and got kicked out. I thought you said you were new to this? If so, jumping from roof to roof may not be in your best interest. Its good to drill the basics.

Its not like I can stop you, so just dont kill yourself alright? ;)

Heard about this from a friend.

Well besides the fact that there is no information on there as far as production, I dont like the sound of it. It makes Parkour sound like somekind of underground criminal thing.

You know your NOT a traceur when you disrespect other traceurs when they are trying to have fun and post on a community forum.

Honestly guys, this is totally unnecessary and immature.

... Your watching a movie and think "Wow there are some great spots where they are"

... your watching a movie with a chase scene and think "you could have speed vaulted that!" or "Roll across the back, not on it!"

... when getting down is no longer how you got up

... when people in cars drive by and yell "Dude its Parkour!"

... when "No skate boarding" signs and grind stubs make you laugh

... when you spend more time on APK than myspace

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.

"The little traceur that could!"

Lol, no offense.

By the way... your insane... ;)

I am not insane. I'm simply upon the way of our parkour predecessors. This is the true, authentic parkour.

To practice in all conditions is the original methodology of training developed by our knowledgeable fore bearers, who we have the wonderful opportunity and obligation of learning from because they are all still alive and with us today. It is of a high importance to link back to them and try to establish connections with them in order to learn the correct ways of training.  ;) ;D

Well when you say it like that who can argue....?  :D

(But yes, I agree)

And who said female traceurs didn't look good?

Oh yeah, he did lol.

(he didn't mean it, but it was funny)

Sorry Zack, had to.

When did I ever say something like that? Please reread the post you just had to link to. I said here in the US. She trains with TCT. That is certainly not in the US.

and in regards to this video.

She is an ill traceuse. I spent 20 minutes once talking to Tom (tomewardbound) about that crane in this vid, and we watched it over and over again. Talking about efficiency and execution and approach. Please don't ever incenuate that I am "one of those guys," because I'm not.

The only reason my original comment was ever even made was because the original girl was ridiculously gorgeous and I made a comment in passing. For f#cks sake get over yourself this is an online forum.

Opps... I was reading something else... my apologies :)

And just curious, are you the zack from the FSU vid?

Parkour / Re: Im scared of monkey vaults
« on: July 03, 2008, 12:25:54 PM »
I remember when I did my first monkey vault... Except it was over a concrete wall, not a rail. Some people find that eaiser. Its definatly one of those moves where you have to do it once, and you can suddenly do it. The mental block is the hardest part. Let your body be free and natural. Be confident and good luck!

I dont think i'd be doing many precisions....

Sorry if I came in as caring about apperance. I was just trying to be nice and fun. I could care less myself. Although those were some nice moves, some of which I wouldn't do myself.
