going to try and bring this thread back to life, with a simple question. anyone want to jam before August 28th? or how about in Fairbanks after August 31st? I do, hopefully im not the only one. winter is almost here guys...

~John
Hey unfortunately this forum is dead...but! we have our own website www.akparkour.com come join and figure out the calendar! Oh and winter is just something that makes you work harder, don't think of it as a time period where you can't do parkour..

These shoes are half the price of the ariake's but in my opinion in every way better. Here they are http://www.shoestation.com/shoestation/product.asp?dept_id=3034&pf_id=PAAAAAMHAGNNPIEM&ad_id=froogle&key_id=PAAAAAMHAGNNPIEM&
The grip on these shoe's are phenomenal and everywhere that my Ariakes slipped these have help their grip. The impact isn't as great as the Ariakes but!, this makes you work on your form so in my opinion it is better. This way your not relying on the shoe to help bad form. The impact is in no means bad, it just isn't as good as Ariakes. Anyways give me your opinion or whatever.

Hey in August I'm going to be coming down to the Los Angeles area, so I was just seeing who is around that area. I will be there for about a week or 2 so I'd like to hit someone up down there. I know all the basics and I help lead Parkour Classes where I do parkour at.

I started using craigslist.
I've already posted a craigslist thing for us Bucky and I think it'd be a good Idea to compile some of our clips from various Jams to make a vid.

Socialize / Finally!
« on: June 02, 2008, 03:17:08 PM »
I finally had a Parkour dream last night! It was awesome, it started out with me just walking down a street. Then out of nowhere 4 men ran at me with swords. So I ran up to a set of rail's doing precisions from each one into a cat leap. Then continued doing different movements but the awesome part was I was so confident that I wasn't scared as soon as I got out of arms reach. At first I was obviously scared but once I got into the actual movement I felt confident. Anyways just wanted to share that with you and if you've had one post it.

I got them yesterday and wow, they are awesome! I'm going to be using them as a conditioning and normal shoe. I'm going to be using my Ariakes for Jams and some practice but I will use my FiveFingers for conditioning my body more.

Well, if you like them and that's what you want to invest in go for it! But if you want more for your money try out the other K-swiss Freerunning/Parkour shoes that they have. Such as the Kirov's. ;)

http://www.kswiss.com/cgi-bin/kswiss/store/product_detail.html?mv_arg=x&nav=47|47&pid=01949:448&g=m# here is a shoe called the kluj mesh im thinking about getting them since the Ariakes are more expensive also these are cheaper and more durable
That link doesn't work when you try to post it here. Try this link, it has a list of all the FreeRunning shoes K-swiss has to offer (including the kluj). http://www.kswiss.com/cgi-bin/kswiss/store/catalog_section?nav=47 ;)

Parkour And Freerunning / Re: is parkour illegal?
« on: May 26, 2008, 10:56:39 AM »
I honestly don't understand why everytime topics like this come up it always turns into a cop/government bashing topic.

I'm sorry, but get over yourself. Stop hating on the messengers and stop with the closed mindedness. It doesn't help Parkour one bit here across the ocean. Many of you need to understand the difference between private and public property. Also, just because an area is labeled as public property does not necessarily mean you can do anything you want there. Is this a sad reality? Yes. But how many of you that have been kicked out of a public place decide to do something about it and go to the mayor's office? How many of you organize groups or work with the local police department getting a positive image of Parkour spread?

Chances are those responding negatively here have never bothered to assert themselves and instead follow rules reluctantly and instead of trying to change what you don't agree with come here to complain and call names or poke fun at "rent-a-cops."

If someone approaches you, be friendly and explain yourself. Keep in mind they (the owners/supervisors/security) have every right in the book to be unsociable and simply tell you to leave. They don't HAVE to be open minded. This is something you need to accept and respect. It's a great feeling when you find one of the few that actually would like to know what you are doing before demanding you leave.

Creating a division between us and law enforcement is not the proper approach to solving our issue with media coverage and representation nationwide. Keep in mind, Jesse and Mark TRAIN these people everyday to perform their jobs better. We should be reaching out to these people, not calling names behind their backs and being disgruntled "hoodlums." Respect is one of the defining qualities of a fine traceur.
I really respect people like you. + 1
