Dang, why does the SAT fall on National Parkour Day? NPD is soooo much cooler than a 4 hour test.

I have the same problem and have come up with a viable solution!

You and I shall take the test in record time: 30 minutes! Then we shall proceed to the hybrid jam/meal/cleanup!

I would just like to start by stating: Dont sell yourself short. I'm sure your in better shape or are better at Parkour than you think you are.

As for training, I live up in arlington, VA. I'd love to help train you guys if your ever up here as the distance i can travel is very short. If your up here on a weekday, send me a message, I'll usualy be in georgetown after 6:30 PM (rowing practice ends then). On the weekends, mid-late afternoon on saturday is the only real time that i have free (i have rowing practice early saturday and work sunday).

hit me up if your in the area.

a big problem i had was staying tucked enough during the roll. The second I fixed it my rolls no longer hurt my shoulder (that doesnt make much sense, i know). Just keep in mind to stay really ball-like.

not that ill be there or anything (ill be out of town) but you may want to check the weather, then decide what time the jam will be... if its going to be hotter than hell then you may want to move it to later in the day

Im sure there are hundreds of posts on this topic all ready, so in the immortal words of M2: why dont you go post in one of those? (not that I really care, but he might)

1 thing is would be so cool to run away from cops doing that im guessing david belle no one can catch that guy holy crap!!!!

No, it would not be cool, because the cops that couldnt catch him would then begin to consider baning parkour, and thus, so would other precincts (sp?) in other countys and other states. The police banning parkour would probably make it very hard to practice and to get new people to come to the decipline, what with it being cast in a negative light. Yes, it would be fun to talk about and fun to think about, but in the long run, running from the cops is just plain dumb. The actions of a single person could ruin the lifestyle of so many others.

Iv completely ditched the method of rolling from one shoulder to the opposite hip in favor of rolling more directly down your back, as shown on the tutorials page.

heh, thanks Leon. We seem to have turned the entire French class onto parkour, their showing a lot of interest. As for the criticism, you can just post it on the forums, i dont mind.

Parkour And Freerunning / Re: Stop the Bullshit campaign - Real Names
« on: June 13, 2008, 04:51:27 AM »
I understand all the reasons for switching to real names. In most of the other forums I'm on I use my real name, just because I prefer to use it. But if you have a good nick name that you are recognized by or just one you like,  I don't think you should feel like you need to change it based on other peoples opinions.

Like Muse pointed out, if you're comfortable with sharing your name, just add it somewhere else in your profile so it will appear when you post.

The reason were switching over (optionally) to real names, is that we believe that it will remind people that they are real people, even online. If you are posting under your real name then perhaps one will think about what he/she is posting and be civil about it, thereby avoiding these arguments that can potentially rip apart online communities. Im not criticizing your decision, just pointing out the logic behind this (almost) forum-wide switch.

Some1 needs to cut their hair lol
couple things though
1. Wrong song choice for a class, and also i would suggest french rap since its for your french class. Or you could just get one without cuss words in it. because fort minor says "f#ck" about 3 times in it.
2. You guys seemed to frozen with your movements like you guys were kind of stiff, just loosen up.
3. Nice movie for a class though

The song choice was not my idea believe me, I sujested french music, but we couldn't seem to find something that Connor could understand (im only in his class as an aid type thing, and not even because i speak french)

In any case, nice work.  Sorry I couldn't make it out.

Its cool, maybe some other weekend eh?

Leon wanted chipotle

Haha some Chipotle in San Diego (my home) gave about 100 people Hepatitis B. The reason why is the employees didn't wash their hands. It was all over the news, just wanted to bring that up  ::)

Next time we jam ill be bringing a bagged lunch  :P

Anyway, heres the final production that we will be showing to the French class tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Editing and clipping and whatnot was done by me. Filming was done by anyone who was available.

In case your wondering, that first picture is the SF parkour emblem/insignia. Lethallbeef leaned against a wall and it left that mark because of how badly he was sweating.

unfortunately i dont have anyone around me to train with me

It all depends on how hard you look. I myself didn't have anyone to train with until 2 weeks ago when I just happened to meet this one local traceur (not that I had to look hard that time). From there it all snowballed and we both met new people just by jamming together. If you poke around and still cant find anyone, just see if any of your friends think they would be interested in starting parkour, and who knows, maybe they will. My only remaining piece of advice is to regularly check the local forums section for jams. If you haven't been to one, their a lot of fun and you will meet a lot of people that live (relatively) close to you. Good luck!
