There isn't the kind of variety in Charles Co. (I used to live there) for PK practice that you'll find in places like Bethesda, Rosslyn, or DC.  You just have to find whatever randomness to polish your skills on.  The place w/ the highest concentration of walls, rails, and elevation changes is going to be CSM . . . and it's even slim pickings down there.  I always justed practiced at parks and playgrounds.

I used to date a chick that lived in Denton . . . or maybe it was Easton.  In any case, the next couple Friday's are a no go for me as I'm gonna be out of town but I'll check up when I get back and see how things are going and see about meeting up with you guys.  Btw, how many peeps are showing up?

If you get dropped off at the Rockville Metro station, or any Metro station for that matter, you will be able to get to just about every hotspot in the area.

I went to school there and never noticed any PK spots but I was into skating then sooo.  There is so much elevation change on that campus there has to be tons of good spots.  I know it's great for skating :)

I went to UMCP and used to skate and play basketball there all the time even after I graduated.  I imagine it to be a great campus for PK.

Try and get more height on your precisions instead of only focusing on distance.  The extra height will help you with the distance and make it easier to land cleanly.  And what a happened on that kong towards the end?  It looked like u either clipped your foot or u were trying to fly away :p

Nobody "deserves" to die.  But you reap what u sowe.  For example . . .

About a week ago a guy was riding up and down the main street in my subdivision doing probably 70 on his sport bike.  The speed limit is 25.  I've seen him do this numerous times before.  On top of that he wasn't wearing a helmet or any other gear . . . no jacket, nothing.  To make a long story short - he did a wheelie, lost control, went up on the median, hit a tree, came back onto the road, then back up on the median, hit another tree, tumbled with the bike for about 100 meters and slid another 50.  He came to rest two doors up from my house with the top of his head gone and 1/2 his face missing.  If he had a helmet and some gear on he might have lived . . . maybe even walked away.  I don't want to say he deserved to die, but he was irresponsible on his bike and he kind of got what was coming to him.

Mid-Atlantic / Re: Gym this wednesday!

That's the schedule all year long.  I've gone on both Wednesdays and Fridays.  During the school year it's practically empty at those times.  I don't know what it's like when school it out.

Movement / Re: barefoot running important thing
« on: June 08, 2006, 08:20:09 AM »
The last time I tried barefoot running was last summer at the beach.  I think I over did it a little . . . my calves were killing me for a good 3 days afterwards.  It is def. something u want to work up to and not go full out right away.

With the explosion of that Juggernaut/X-Men parody i wonder how many people seeing the movie realized that is a common saying for him in the comics and those guys didn't come up with it on their own.

The movie wasn't great but it was pretty good.  My critique:

1. The plot was very thin.

2. I saw absolutely no purpose behind one of the deaths and you kind of had to rationalize the other death.

3. The movie felt really disjointed moving from scene to scene up until about the 3/4 point.

4. The movie should have been longer to prevent the thin plot.  Certain characters should have either NOT been in the movie or had more screen time and better character development.

APK Academy Workout of the Day / Re: Bar Muscle Ups
« on: June 05, 2006, 06:11:10 AM »
I have difficulty with bar muscle ups but can do them on a wall.  It must be partially mental as I have issues with the transition from the pull-up to the dip on a bar.  There is a soccer goal that I sometimes do my pull-ups for the WOD on that I may try a muscle-up on and see how that goes.  Not quite a bar and not quite a wall.

Mid-Atlantic / Re: Wednesday weekly session...?
« on: June 01, 2006, 09:47:07 PM »
Rosslyn might be a go but Georgetown might be a no go for a while.  We got run off the campus at the beast coast jam.  Granted we wouldn't have so many traceurs for a training session but it might be a good idea to stay away for a while.
