Consumer Whores / Scuffing Up Walls
« on: May 17, 2012, 04:14:33 PM »
I noticed today on a cat, that my Vivobarefoot Evo's left black marks on this smooth concrete wall. I only noticed it on this wall, however; I would like to know how to solve this problem. Has anybody ever had any experience with a problem like this?

Parkour And Freerunning / Progress at a Standstill
« on: May 17, 2012, 01:03:18 PM »
Today was the first sunny day for a week, and I was so excited to train. I started with some discouraging jumping, managing a measly 13 foot running jump and a 8 foot standing jump. The next disappointment was some rolling. Before the winter, I had a great roll. Completely painless on concrete. Now, after the winter, I've been trying for the past month to get my painless roll back. But it isn't happening! My shoulder blade hurts no matter what I do to my roll. After that, I just sat around. Wondering what to train. I thought about how much I've progressed. Honestly, I am not happy with my progressions. An improved speed vault, slightly better balance. That's it. I just feel so discouraged... What can I do get into some steady progress?

Parkour And Freerunning / What Do You Bring With You?
« on: April 26, 2012, 11:30:04 AM »
What do you guys bring with you for training? I don't need advice, just wanted to see what some people bring.
As for me, I bring measuring tape, extra shoes, a water bottle, and I ride my bike to most spots. :)

Does anyone know where I can find a pair of sweatpants like the ones at 0:55?
A link would be appreciated, if you do know/find out. I will be looking online. :)

Pics & Vids / Backwards Parkour
« on: March 17, 2012, 04:13:27 PM »
I remember seeing a video of someone doing parkour, except the video was played backwards. It was very, very, very cool, but I can't find it! Could someone link it to me?

Parkour And Freerunning / Cutting Sole From Shoe?
« on: March 16, 2012, 10:42:39 AM »
I am thinking about cutting off part of my shoe's sole to give it less cushioning, and then maybe smoothing it with sandpaper. Has anybody ever tried this before? Any advice you could give?  :)

Parkour And Freerunning / Achilles Tendon
« on: March 12, 2012, 04:35:45 PM »
After a run, my Achilles Tendon is very sore. Moving it around makes it hurt a lot! Could it be improper running technique? I'm fairly certain I land on my mid-foot, but maybe I'm wrong...
Also, I'm not sure this is a real injury, which is why I didn't post this in the injury section. It has hurt before but I ignored it, and it went away.  :(
ALSO, it hurts when I walk heel-toe, when I land, jump, etc.

Consumer Whores / Vivobarefoot Aqua Lite
« on: March 10, 2012, 07:34:13 PM »
Has anybody ever worn Vivobarefoot Aqua Lite during parkour? If you have, could you give me a quick review of it? Things like grip, durability, comfort, etc.

Parkour And Freerunning / Getting Back Into Parkour?
« on: March 08, 2012, 01:17:13 PM »
After a very cold Canadian winter, and no gym, I had a minimal amount of training in the past few months. Today was the first warm day in awhile, and I just didn't feel like training at all. Could someone give me some advice in getting back on training?

Consumer Whores / Feiyues In Canade
« on: February 13, 2012, 04:46:14 PM »
I live in Canada, and am wondering where I can buy a pair of Feiyues. If you have a website within Canada, I could handle shipping. But sites outside of Canada have ridiculous shipping prices. Thanks!  :)

Consumer Whores / Best Feiyues?
« on: January 24, 2012, 06:50:03 AM »
When I looked at the website, most of the shoes were fashionable shoes, rather than the highly recommended sneaker I was looking for... Could somebody point me to a place where I could order the parkour-accessible Feiyue? Also, I live in Canada, so I don't want to order from Thanks!

Consumer Whores / Vivo Barefoot
« on: January 19, 2012, 07:51:40 AM »
Should I pick up the neo, ultra, or evo II? Please explain why you think I should get whichever version. I am of course going to use it as a parkour shoe.

Consumer Whores / Best Barefoot Shoe?
« on: January 18, 2012, 06:48:00 AM »
What is the best, grippiest, most comfortable barefoot shoe for parkour? I don't want to spend more than $100, but I am willing to spend $150 if it is really good.

Parkour And Freerunning / Traceur Pronunciation?
« on: January 06, 2012, 07:21:06 PM »
I hear people say it like "tracer", but I, being a French speaking Canadian, thought it is "trass-or". What is it?

Parkour And Freerunning / Parkour Post-Natural Disaster
« on: December 29, 2011, 10:01:04 AM »
When I'm training parkour, I think about this ALL the time! Doing parkour in an area that has recently suffered from a natural disaster. Of course I don't WISH it would happen, because they are tragedies that actually occur, but it would create some interesting areas. Traceurs could use parkour for the reason it was originally designed. To get to people in need, quickly. Those are just my thoughts. Also, an interesting parkour venue would be post-apocalypse... Non-zombie. I imagine post-apocalyptic parkour as Motorstorm Apocalypse, except with more badass ninjas climbing stuff, and less driving. And if such an event could occur, the traceurs would be able to scavenge supplies, escape looters and whatnot. What are your guys' thoughts on this?

Movement / Practicality of Reverse Vaults
« on: December 12, 2011, 07:47:12 AM »
Are reverse vaults practical? What kind of time should I put into training this movement?
Thanks for your replies!

Oh, by the way, I have a dilemna with my new shoes, Nike Air Retaliate. I know I should post in the consumer whores section, but I will probably not get any responses there. If you've ever used them, could you give me a quick review/overview of their revelance to parkour training? Thanks!

Consumer Whores / Nike Air Retaliates
« on: December 12, 2011, 07:38:11 AM »
My folks got me a pair for Christmas. I want to know if they are any good, and there is close to no information on their quality online. If ANYBODY has ever used them, could they please tell me if they are good parkour shoes? Thanks!  ;D

Consumer Whores / Nike Darts 9
« on: December 04, 2011, 05:27:35 PM »
Does anybody do parkour in Nike Darts 9? My budget is probably 150<, an I've rea goo things about Nike Darts. I need a shoe with thin sole. My current shoe has a fairly thick sole. Also, is it comfy? If the Nike Dart 9 isn't a goo parkour shoe, could you point me in the direction of a parkour shoe I can find at any old shoe store?

Parkour And Freerunning / Running After a Kong
« on: December 04, 2011, 03:05:25 PM »
Normally, I do a safety tap. It basicly almost completely kills my momentum.
Is there a more efficient, safe, painless landing after a kong? Can I just land on the balls of my feet and keep running?
