Injuries - Discussion / Running issue, looking for input.
« on: September 17, 2012, 12:17:39 PM »
This isn't an injury per say but is getting on my nerves and I can't find out what is wrong so I'm coming to APK to see if anyone has experienced anything similar before I head to a Doc.

Let me start with the background. I have been living in Japan for around a year. While in japan I was running Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Four miles in the morning and six miles in the evening and feeling fine. I was also spending a good bit of time on Mt Fuji (above 5000 feet) I had no injuries and was holding a pretty good pace. I never made a point to time my runs but I know I was getting the 4 milers in 30 minutes or less and the 6 milers in 50-60 minutes depending on the day. Basically I was healthy and about to bump my evening runs up to 7-8 milers.

I returned to the USA 30 Aug 2012, I live in South Mississippi. Since I have returned I have struggled to get 4 miles at a slow pace. I haven't been breathing to hard, it just feels like I have no energy what so ever when I run. Finally I ran the other day and felt like I was doing better on my 4 milers. Then there was this morning. I woke up and went to a 1/4 mile track to run. I did the first lap SLOW and thought I was gonna die. My heart rate felt WAY to high for just that little of a run and I was breathing like I just sprinted that lap. I pushed it out until I got to 1 1/4 miles and HAD to stop. As soon as I stopped I could feel my heart pounding like crazy and my vision went red.

Needless to say this is annoying, I need my milage to go up and I can't do that with these kinda issues. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Socialize / Living in Japan

For those that don't know I have recently moved to Japan, I'm making this as a way to document my trip so my buddies state side can see what all crap I have been up to. I intend to somehow hook up with the local Parkour groups (if I can find them, Japanese are so freaking shy) here and train with them, I have seen some awesome training spots so far, but given the language barrier and I don't know the laws, gonna have to find some folks to hang out with though last thing I need is to be setting in a Japanese prison. Thus I will start this off with pictures.

Best snacks ever made.

Some of the toys at my local gym.

Yea I really don't know, just looked cool

That was a terrifying day, I still don't know what it is...but it tastes good.

Dorm life, we are always calm and well mannered and tend to keep things quiet and peaceful

I found a castle, ran into it looking for a 7 eleven

And last but by no means least, Paradise:

Bout to pick me up some Merrals, my last pair of shoes have officially died, thus I need a good pair of runners. How well will these hold up for Parkour? Anyone on here use them?

Socialize / Well I'll be out for a while.
« on: January 03, 2011, 10:25:18 AM »
I'm leaving for the second worst year of training in my life in two weeks, I'll be out for a while if I live. Got a handfull of tabs to get and a lot of very wet and cold nights with nothing to eat to look forward to. I'll miss all you monkey handed hyperactive lunatics constantly bickering. Take care to then ya'll, and Greg don't let me catch you slacking when I get back. Guess I'll be hooking up with Washington PK when I get done with tech school, ya'll got room for me up there?

Socialize / Any military traceurs out there?

Any military folks on the forums? If so post it, we can find out who is at what base and such. I'm currently a SERE candidate for the USAF and will be getting stationed at Fairchild AFB in Washington state starting January.

I'll be in Hurburt Field for a few days at the end of June, if I get some free time from there (probably won't) I was wondering what the parkour scene there was and if anyone there would like to train together.

Mississippi / Parkour In Hattiesburg
« on: May 18, 2010, 06:42:28 PM »
I've posted on a few trends but there all like a year old. I go to Hattiesburg every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to the YMCA on highway 11 to swim at around noon, after that I'm all up for some parkour, though I don't really know my way around Hattiesburg. If anyone's in that area on those days (will be there tomorrow) message me on here, we might can find some place to get into something.
