Tricking / Help with 540 tornado kick...
« on: June 11, 2011, 04:08:16 PM »
So this is the first thing that I'm determined to learn. I've been practicing for a few weeks and I finally have everything down. So I tried it again today and actually landed a few for the first time :) (along with a few front flips, but thats besides the point  :P) Anyways, it seems that I can't get really do a high kick. I can get the rotation and land on the kicking leg and everything, but my kicks seem kinda weak if you know what I mean. Like I don't think I'm extending my leg out and making it as straight as I should. My camera broke, so I can't record and watch myself. Do I just need to stretch more and become more flexible or is there some kind of technique like leaning forward or back to get the kick higher?

Movement / Split Foot Take Off
« on: May 26, 2011, 05:46:55 PM »
I've been practicing for about 7 months now, and have yet to learn how to perform a split-foot take off. For some reason it just doesn't feel natural and I end up chickening out and either doing a 2-foot punch or a really awkward reverse vault since I'm not committing with the kong. Any advice or any good tutorials you guys know of?

Movement / Extension On Precisions
« on: May 26, 2011, 05:43:45 PM »
So I think I finally understand what people mean when they say that I need more "extension" on my jumps, but just let me know if I'm right or not. So before, I think I was just throwing my arms up when jumping and hoping that they would help me, when in fact they probably weren't... Then I started practicing again and instead started trying to let my arms kinda guide or lead me to my landing spot, like my arms helped my momentum go forward not just wasted momentum, if you know what I mean. Is this what "extension" means?
If not, then an explanation would be helpful. I mean, maybe the way I jump is just a personal style or whatever, but if I can get an extra foot or two, that would be sweet  :)

Socialize / End of the world!!!
« on: May 21, 2011, 05:51:53 AM »
So todays supposed to be the Rapture, the end of the world proclaimed by some church... They say that its supposed to hit at around 6 PM in New York or something and move across the timezones hitting at exactly 6 PM around the world, but I'm sure being the awesome traceurs we are, we can just stay ahead of it the entire time ;D

Socialize / Broken Camera Help!
« on: May 19, 2011, 04:17:32 PM »
So I was recording myself playing piano with my Canon SX130 on a little tripod, when it somehow lost balance and fell about 3 feet to the floor. The lens was obviously out so thats what it landed on... Nothing on the outside appears to be broken (glass, shell, etc), but when I try to turn it on it starts making a clicking noise like the lens is stuck or something.  >:( I'm super depressed now cuz I have no way of buying a new one (my family is basically broke at the moment) and I'm not sure how much it would cost to send it in to Canon to get it replaced. Is it possible to fix it somehow myself or does it absolutely need to be done by a professional? Any hidden Canon people here  ;)

Movement / Some More Handstand Help?
« on: May 18, 2011, 04:05:01 PM »
So here are 2 vids from my first attempts at handstands. Even with a lot of practice of course, is it unreasonable to get a pretty solid handstand with only 2-3 weeks of training? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry for the long wait! I broke two of my toes about 2 months ago, and had to take it easy for a while. This was originally gonna be a 5 month progression vid, but then I figured that my injury was a part of my progression so here it is hahaha ;P

There's a lot more to say, but you can just read the video description on youtube... Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Oh yeah, and if you can, make sure to watch in HD!

Utah / Utah Pancake Jam!
« on: March 27, 2011, 08:20:12 PM »
So I had the privilege to go to the first annual (I'm assuming haha) Parkour Pancake Jam held at the University of Utah! Special thanks goes to Ryan Sannar who organized it and runs JumpUtah so that we may stay connected as a community. I'm a super new member of the Utah parkour community, but let a ton of cool people and can't wait to train with you guys in the future! Well after my broken toe heals :(

Anyways, if you haven't seen these 2 vids yet, I'm going to post them again. The first is supposed to be a more epic version, seeing as I thought that Utah Parkour needed something that was just plain BA :D

The second version is supposed to be a more fun vid and demonstrating how much we love and enjoy movement and the great community that is here... If you are a new Utah traceur or are already a current practitioner who wants to train with others (like I was) make sure to check out JumpUtah with the links below.

Thanks and let me know what you think of the vids! :D

Pics & Vids / Utah Pancake Jam Part 2! Fixed!!!
« on: March 27, 2011, 03:23:42 PM »
So after reviewing my first vid, I decided to take a different approach for this version. I decided to impose more of a "fun" tone. I wanted to show others how much we love moving and how great the community really is out here :D
Its shorter than the last vid, so thats already a plus, and in general I just like the feel of this vid more than the first version. Let me know what you think!

Pics & Vids / First Annual Utah Pancake Jam!!!
« on: March 22, 2011, 10:50:57 PM »

This is my first true Parkour vid for the Utah Community and it was a ton of fun to make! March 19th was the first annual Pancake Jam held at the University Of Utah. I was able to meet a lot of cool people, and be a part of an amazing parkour and freerunning community that I wish I had known years ago...

Special thanks goes to Ryan Sannar who organized it and sacrifices a lot of his time to bring together the Utah Parkour Community. With the creation of, all Utah practitioners have a new online home to go to, and are encouraged to practice with one another and help each other progress. If you're in Utah and would like to learn this lifestyle, or are already a current practitioner, let us know so we can jam sometime!!!

I know I probably should have color-corrected the clips, and made it match a lot better, but there was almost 10 GBs of footage and After Effects kept crashing resulting in me getting very mad... Call me lazy, but whatever haha. I'll prob end up making a second vid with all the leftovers... Peace...

Warning: This is not a parkour vid, BUT I think its still inspiring  ;D

Anyways, found this sweet tricking vid this morning and thought I'd share it. Its the first tricking vid I've ever seen that actually makes me wanna start, but I have pretty bad hips so I don't know how I'd fair haha :-\

But yeah, enjoy!

Socialize / Wisdom Teeth Extraction
« on: February 16, 2011, 10:02:47 AM »
Hey guys just wondering, has anyone here ever had any of their wisdom teeth extracted? I'm supposed to get some fillings in like 2 weeks then all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted in the same day, the week after. If you did, what can I expect to happen? I've never had a surgical procedure done in my life, so this is all kinda new to me... I'm just kinda nervous on what I should expect...

Funny how I can get comfortable jumping gaps and vaulting rails and such, but when it comes to doctor procedures, I'm a wimp ;D

California / Visiting Chula Vista Area
« on: November 15, 2010, 06:37:03 PM »
Hey guys, I'll be heading down to Cali at the end of this week to go to my grandma's birthday. I should be there from the 20-22 or something like that. I don't know which day the party is haha, but if there's anyone interested in picking me up and jammin' with, that would be cool :D
Also, just a little heads up. I'm still fairly a beginner, so keep that in mind  ;)
But yeah, if you want to, hit me up! My email is
