International Discussion / 12 hours in Hong Kong
« on: March 19, 2012, 02:59:05 PM »
Hello I am flying to Philippines to teach at an event and I'll be stopping in Hong Kong for 12 hours and 50 minutes. Are there any practitioners in the area that I can meet up with? I will be there in April 17th.

New Mexico / Looking for an "Eric"
« on: January 12, 2012, 02:52:21 PM »
Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a practitioner named Eric, we met at the San Antonio winter jajm 2012 that just passed. I didn't get his contact info. but he told me about Days of Movement at UNM, but I couldn't find that on Facebook either.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Washington / Visiting Seattle
« on: December 24, 2011, 10:07:07 AM »
Hello everyone,

I'm from Hammond, Indiana (near Chicago) and I'm wanting to see the Seattle area, train around a bit, see the city, experience the people. I'd like to come around February 1st and stay for, well, a few weeks. But I'd be willing to go to a motel or whatever as well.

I'm wondering if anyone could house me for even a day? As for my personal training I've been training constantly and consistenly from 06 till now (5 years) and I'm an ADAPT affiliate coach of PK GEN. You can check that here.

So I'd love to show the ropes to beginners who might wanna trade a couch night for some awesome intruction  ;)

So yeah, that's about it.

I'll be hecking back here or you can e-mail me at

Thanks everyone, merry christmas, happy eid, kwanzaa, and hanuka,
and Happy New Year

Parkour And Freerunning / New Classes in Indiana, Northwest.
« on: September 07, 2009, 10:17:53 AM »
NWIPK (Northwest Indiana Parkour) has a myspace managed by
NoRush, and a facebook managed by Joe R.

We now hold classes every Sat from 1-4 throughout varying locations in the Northwest Indiana Region.
The two instructors of NWIPK are Joe R. and John "NoRush Conway, both of whom will have started
4th year of training coming this April.

We have had much success, with atleast 1 new face showing up every week, and that is usually a female! (yay traceuses!)

Parkour And Freerunning / ADD is what?
« on: August 04, 2009, 08:59:13 PM »
[Posted on Parkour Generations' Forum]

Chau Belle-Dinh does not do the parkour, but he does the ADD, L'art du deplacement.

Home page of Parkour Generations: Parkour: L'art du deplacement. probably know where
this is going.

If parkour is efficient movement, and freerun is finding your own path with creativity,
what is l'art du deplacement and how is it different from the other 2 diciplines?

I have been on the ADD Academy site and tried to understand as much of that French as
I could with my limited knowledge of the language. However, I'm still very much
unsure of this.

Edit- I am a practitioner of parkour for 3 and 1/2 years. I understand the name is not as important
as the movement, but I want to know what is it that I actually do.

Edit 2- I have just thought of something. On the home page where it says Parkour: L'art du deplacement, is the ending part, l'art du deplacement, simply a description of Parkour? Meaning that ADD is a title thus a completely different thing from Parkour?

What I mean is this:

Parkour is the art of movement, but L'art du Deplacement is not Parkour. Correct, or incorrect?

Parkour And Freerunning / Fixing what's not broken.
« on: August 04, 2009, 09:43:53 AM »
Actually, it's almost broken. This rail that I train on, more like a wooden post.
If you've ever seen Aladdin's video "We Train", you'll see it.

Anyway, it's almost broken from being bent too far too many times one way from
rail precisions. I'll be going back today with a wrench and screw driver to tighten
that sucker back up.

Thing is, this lady had come up to me and said that this other rail had broken
and what she said made it sound like my fault and that I was going to be arrested etc.
Fact is I never trained on the spot she was talking about.

Regardless, it would be a good idea for me to fix this public park's equipment manually
to show that we as parkour practitioners are respectful of our environment and...well...
we certainly do not want a repeat of what happened in Liverpool to happen in Indiana.

Basically just reminding everyone that although the equipment might be public, and although
this equipment might not have been used by you, it's always a good idea to show respect. This
in turn is how we (although just 1 person) can truly spread parkour in a positive manner.

It's not much, it might take me just 5 minutes to wrench it back tight, but it counts. And the lady
who complained will know that.
