Tennessee / Beginner Training Jam 3/09
« on: March 04, 2010, 05:43:35 PM »
I'm going to be in Knoxville for the weekend and I thought I'd hold a beginner friendly jam at the Knoxville Museum of Art.  If you'd like to come, give a post or give me a call.  My phone number is 8655675140.

I've been working and toying with the idea of creating a base for Freerunners in TN to call home.

My abilities lie in the graphics department.  So I'd like some help if anyone knows a lot about coding to help me put together the site.

If you're able to help me at all, send me a PM with any details that you might believe pertinent.   :)

Weights & Measures - Discussion / Pull ups

We have a max effort pushup and a one minute pushup thread.  Might I recommend two similar pullup threads?

How are things going in the Freerunning world down in Chattanooga?

I have to come down in a couple weeks for work and I want to jam.  You guys need to show me around.

I finally got around to reading this after I found it on the CF boards.

I'm not sure how many of you think about the future possibilities of our joints, but I do a lot.

I'm gonna be up in the area the second week of April to spend some time with the family.

Anyway, the 11th through the 13th of April are free time for me and I was gonna crash the weekend in DC.

In the Media / You Don't Mess With The Zohan
« on: December 16, 2007, 04:42:19 PM »
Well, went out to the movies and had the privilege of seeing I Am Legend (which by the way is an excellent movie) and during the trailers there was the new Adam Sandler movie called You Don't Mess With The Zohan.  Girlfriend jabbed me in the ribs pretty hard while I wasn't paying attention and I saw the main character doing some freerunning stuff (specifically a couple big drop gainers).  Just curious as to who got lucky enough for that gig if anybody knows.

Time to start this thing up properly.  Put some determination into this and keep track of my progress. :-\

Sunday December 2nd, 2007:

Went and drilled split footing on my kongs for an hour.  When I first started I learned with the two footed take off.  Now I'm trying to break that habit to get better distance on my vaults.

Goals for the week:
1.  Improve my kong distance by 2 feet.
2.  Start filming a video for my friends and co-workers.
3.  Get ready for exams (non-parkour related, but still a goal for the week none-the-less ;D)

Goals for the month:
1.  Non-kipping muscle up.

Injuries - Discussion / Another forearm pain thread.
« on: October 27, 2007, 08:20:46 PM »
I've read those most of the threads on forearm pains, but I haven't found anything satisfying to what I'm dealing with.

My forearm (right more than the left) is killing me. From looking at my anatomy book the pain is localized around Flexor Protundus (the bigger one running along the pinky side of your arm) about three inches below the elbow. It hurts when I have to use a "crushing" grip on anything. Mostly pull-ups and DB-curls for my routine though.

I'm trying to give it as much rest as possible, but it's not helping that much. I don't think it could be forearm splints because I can do push ups etc with no pain. It's not weak forearm strength and grip because I'm a pretty good rock-climber. Would it just be sprained? If so I know the best bet is just to RICE the shit out of it, it's just hard to give it enough rest with my job.

Mid-Atlantic / 2nd week of Oct. DC visit
« on: September 21, 2007, 10:55:36 AM »
Try this again in the proper forum.

I'm crashing with some family on the second weekend of October and I was wondering if there was any jams or training that I could attend?

District of Columbia / Weekend off and heading to DC
« on: September 19, 2007, 06:09:26 PM »
I'm popping over to DC for a few days over the second weekend of October to visit some family.

Any small jams going on or groups that wouldn't mind a new guy to train with for a couple days?

Tennessee / Knoxville PK group
« on: September 16, 2007, 08:07:38 AM »
I've seen lots of talk from people who want to train around Knoxville, but I've yet to find people that are actually ready to train and to try some runs.
If you live in/around Knoxville and want to get some group training in sometime within the next month send me an email at

Socialize / Ramblings of an all-nighter English paper
« on: September 15, 2007, 11:42:57 PM »
Seriously, English as a language is great.  But, as a f#cking class that I've had to take for 15 years of my life and wasting... 120 days of my life sitting in class and lectures and over 350 days (close to a year straight of my life) studying, reading and writing papers to appease my teachers and professors, is absurd.  What is more absurd is that I have a five page summary and response paper due Monday on a picture, just one measly little picture out of a fitness magazine.  If I'm going to be spending THAT much time studying for my future, shouldn't I be investing it on the pursuit of knowledge to a field that will help my future career?  I still have to find time to study for my upcoming Physics and Trig exam for Tuesday.

Every time I try to edit my profile, I'm getting this error message:

JSMF CB Plugin error::Failed to synchronize user updates to SMF:: Username (Ghost.Man) does not exist in SMF or not able to retrieve userid ~~~ FROM::/home/apkadmin/public_html/administrator/components/com_smf/admin.smf.class.php || updatemember || 1000

Help would be much appreciated.
