Training Journals / Alvendam's journal
« on: February 28, 2016, 10:38:51 AM »
I finally started taking action about my body condition, so I decided I should make some attempt to keep track of my work. I hope this will help me with my training and probably I could get sme tips and criticism.  :)

My current stats are:
Height: 180cm
Weight: 75 kilos
Broad jump lenght (as measured in school: from jumping line to heels): 280cm.
Standing precision jump lenght: Easily doing 280cm. Somewhat consistently 290cm and struggling to move it to 300cm.
Maximum push ups: around 40
Maximum pistol squats: 5
Maximum pul ups: 10

My goals
In two months from now be able to:
  • Bench press a barbell of unknown weight. A friend estimated it at at least 70 kilos.
  • Broad jump 2.9 meters, measured from the starting line to heels.

In a month from now be able to:
  • Be able to easily perform a clean muscle up.
  • learn a bar kip.
  • Move the numbers of the max reps of my push ups, pistol squats and pull ups by at least ten for every one.

My training consists of daily bar work of varying intensity, depending on soreness and energy left from the previous day. Pull ups, muscle up attempts (and some times succeeding) and kip training. Also weighted feet exercises with two concrete blocks of unknown weight. Squats, pistol squats and calf raises. Also I include a number of push ups variations, depending on mood and energy levels.

Well that's it for now. I'm not entirely sure how to keep a journal, but I hope I can figure it out.

Pics & Vids / Rooftop sunset
« on: October 26, 2015, 01:39:30 PM »
We got on that rooftop today, had some good fun, took a couple of great pictures and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. Here's the link to the album with the best photos. I'm on the fifth, sixth (on the right) and seventh. Sadly some guy came to kick us out, before I managed to get a photo of myself flipping. As a bonus, I have a video of me doing a sexchange on the edge, taken a few days ago.

Suggestions - What can we do better???!!! / Why not have a shoutbox?
« on: February 16, 2015, 01:36:13 PM »
Hey everyone, why not have a shoutbox in the forum for "too regular to make a new topic" kind of chats? I turns out that SMF has a number of mods to make this possible:
SMFPacks Shoutbox (free with a 20$ pro version)
nneonneo's Shoutbox (free and has a lot of features)
Ultimate Shoutbox

There are more for sure, but this is what comes up in a quick search. So... Can we have a shoutbox?

In the Media / Tracers
« on: February 13, 2015, 01:14:40 PM »
When I took that off my chest, I gotta say that, despite all the plot holes and dumb things in it, I really enjoyed Premium Rush. And this looks like premium rush with parkour and more action.I hope it will show the philosophy part of out discipline at least a little, to compensate for the roof jumping. Anyway it has a potential of being a great movie and I'm looking forward to it.
Here are some links:

Also  I'm looking for the song at the end of the video.
I think I found it.

Pics & Vids / Pasha Petkun's Low Palmflip Tutorial
« on: February 05, 2015, 10:36:10 AM »
Jason Paul's tutorial was really fun. But... This is Pasha. He's my favortite freerunner out there and the fact he rarely talks in farang's videos is quite dissapointing to me. And this. Is. Absurd. I nominate it for best tutorial ever. Enjoy:

And it's shit.
It's really outdated.
He doesn't even do these moves anymore.

Well, seriously. After I saw this I'm no longer an atheist. Pasha is my god now.

Happy 2015 guys! 2014 sucked a lot, but I hope the new year will be a lot better.
So, what are you plans for it?
I think about:
1. Get better in parkour (learn at least two flips)
2. Learn some java
3. Make somehting about my school grades

Parkour And Freerunning / Session logger
« on: December 20, 2014, 12:53:09 AM »
Hey guys, I'm starting this thread, so we can write how our latest session passed and what we have done. I think it will be interesting to hear how other people here train.
So I'll start with my yesterday session. It was neither planned or expected, just got out with friends after school. They were skipping that day and wanted to train. We met at the national palace of culture in my city wich has few great spots that I never trained on. We got kicked out of the first and move to the next. There I did a pop vault, pop kash and reverse kong 180 for the first times. Also my first kash with the pop kash :D Hell yeah! And a lot of cat grabs and speed to dashes. We were getting tired so we moved to one spot that I travel by every day on my way to school and never did anything on it. You can see it here. It did some precisions and jumps there and got home tired. Now I am so much muscle sore, that it hurts like thousands of needles in my every muscle even if I don't move. It was totally worth it :D I became muscle sore few hours after it, didn't even have to slled over it, hah!

It's now your turn guys. What was your most recent training, or your best session ever?

Movement / Does the speed to dash vault has a name?
« on: December 09, 2014, 12:33:07 PM »
Hey guys, I've been wondering if that vault where you start as a speed and finish with a dash has a name. Mendoza and Wolff do it a lot here*. I recently realised how awesome and flowy this vault is and when I saw it in this video decided to ask if it has a proper name.

*A new video by the way and a pretty cool one :)

Diet / Food is pure evil!
« on: December 06, 2014, 05:57:04 AM »
Food exist with the single purpose of stealing our souls! You start eating and even when you feel you are no longer hungry, you continue eating, and even when you can't physically take anymore you continue eating. I just finished my lunch. 5 eggs, fried with white cheese and paprika and half a loaf of bread added to them. It hurts! I seriously start thinking about painting myself green and trying photosyntesis.

Suggestions - What can we do better???!!! / The spammers problem.
« on: November 25, 2014, 05:38:20 AM »
While reporting all of the recent spam posts I noticed that they all have the same behavior. They post in general fitness, make only one post, have one link in their sig, that leads to the product and they always leave a P.S. with an apology for subforum selection. Isn't there any way to filter these bots out? Like limiting general fitness to 2+ post members or something like that?

In the Media / Hardcore: The Movie
« on: November 11, 2014, 10:19:55 AM »
*sorry I couldn't resist it*
But I'm not that far from the truth. Hardcore is the (claimed) first action movie shot from POV. The trailer looks f#cking amazing and the reason I post here is that it features parkour too. Jump between stories of a building and shoot some bad guys. And it's filmed in Russia. What else could you want :D It's filmed with special camera mount wich can be sought on the indiegogo page.

Suggestions - What can we do better???!!! / New emoticons
« on: October 24, 2014, 10:25:15 AM »
So I noticed that the forum has only the standart emoticons. I have a folder with few good small emoticons that could be added. Some of them don't fit here, but others are generic and why not have few more, just for the sake of having few more.
Here is a link to check out my little collection: Emoticons.rar
