Parkour And Freerunning / getting kicked out
« on: September 07, 2014, 04:17:00 PM »
Hey guys - got "kicked out" of the park today for doing Parkour - I live right in front of a public park and I've built a few things (vault, precisions, etc) and they basically told us we can't bring our own equipment to train on (all the while there's people on tennis courts, and personal soccer goals, etc all around) I tried to explain to them that our equipment isn't that dissimilar to other sports equipment and it's actually safer if we train on our stuff rather than jump on what's at the park - they were unmoved, basically a lack of understanding of our sport I suppose - but it's sooo frustrating - how do you guys deal with getting kicked out?

Hey guys - here's a video my son (14 yo) has been working on all summer, he finally got it finished and he did a really good job - plus did all the editing himself - he doesn't get on the forums here so if you'd post an encouraging note on the video that'd be awesome! :)

For the record - I'm 47 and he's 14 (yes I know he's tall for 14 hehe) and the box I built is 2' X 3' X 4'

Age 30+ / Gonna be 47 this October

hey guys - New "old guy" here :) like many of you I've been doing parkour before there was a name for it, my son (who is 14 now) got the bug  a year ago and we have been climbing trees, going to different places to train, trampoline gyms, gymnastic gyms, you name it - we've even joined up a a local Kung Fu school to train together

Let me just day that it's awesome training with my son, when he makes a good move and I tell him he did a great job, he knows I really truly understand that he DID make a good move, and the same goes for me - I know he understands and so when I wall run up the 8 foot wall and he goes "what!?!" in disbelief - I know I've made a good move ;) it's a great bonding experience and I think has really given us both a new level of respect for each other

Videos coming soon from the Father and Son team ;)
