Michigan / Beginner's Jam- Ann Arbor- Sat July 23
« on: July 12, 2011, 05:59:45 PM »
Copied from Aubrey's post on facebook:

Announcing: Beginner Jam Saturday July 23rd, 1pm, University of Michigan School of Dentistry.

This will be a jam oriented toward folks who are just starting out or have never tried parkour before. We'll be running a few clinics covering basic movements and visiting a number of the hotspots around Ann Arbor. This is a good opportunity for all those folks who joined the group, but haven't had the chance to actually come out yet.

The details are as follows:
We will be meeting at 1pm on Saturday the 23rd of July on the south side of the University of Michigan Dental School (you can use google maps or equivalent to find 1101 North University St, Ann Arbor, mi). We will go until everyone gets tired, which I expect will be around 5. Bring comfortable clothes and athletic shoes. Water is probably a good idea too.

I know it's winter now but it's been a while since there's been any activity on here and i thought i should check to make sure everyone's still alive   :-Sarcasm

So a little update for us in Ann Arbor: we finally moved training indoors to the chem building, though we may venture out to some parking structures now and then. Starting next semester we're gonna make tuesdays conditioning/ strength training days. Thursdays and Sundays regular training, and now every other Saturday we are hoping to get into a gym in Brighton.  ;D

oh and we might actually put something on our site eventually. will share when do

Thought i'd share this here to give this board some activity. Big thanks to Steve Zavitz for putting it together. We're not a group that focuses much on filming ourselves so sorry to anyone that's left out. Enjoy

National Jams / MIPK/ Ann Arbor Jam 2009 - September 18-20
« on: July 24, 2009, 10:28:35 PM »
We finally decided on a date! It will be September 18-20th. I will update this with more details when we have them, but mark your calendars!

UPDATE: Tentative Schedule

Friday ~7pm - Some light training and fun on the North Campus wave field and surrounding areas

Saturday 10:30am - Meet and warm-up in the Diag of Central Campus
               11am   - Dental/ Kellog
               12pm   - Belltower/ Hill
1pm  - Lunch - State street is right nearby and has lots of restaurants
2pm  - Meet back up at Rackam
                3pm  - End at Biomed
7pm - BBQ - Please bring money to help cover the cost :)

Sunday       11am - Meet up at the Diag again for a warm-up
             11:30am - Chemistry atrium
12:30pm - Lunch on South University st.
               1:30pm - North Campus

The format will be similar to last year's. On Saturday we will be holding clinics for different techniques before we open up a spot to jam.  With this format, we're trying to minimize the jam-syndrome of standing around and watching the more proficient people hit a few big moves, while still allowing those guys to session each spot as they wish.

Housing: Please RSVP with the following info to help us sort out housing and transportation. We'll know where everyone is staying when the jam gets closer.

How many people need housing?
If you need transportation, what are your flight details (i.e. Arrival/departure times, carrier, flight number)?
What is a good way to reach you (i.e. cell phone number, email address, etc.)?

Update from Travis- Hit me up at seven three four six four five 7424 if you need help finding the group. I'll let Mike or the other guys post up their numbers at their own discretion.

Mike Metze- 410-five seven oh- 4711

Michigan / Jam transportation

I've noticed there haven't been a lot of Michigan traceures (and tracueses) at National Jams so far. I think people who are going/ want to go should post up how they're getting there so we can try to get carpools going.

Up next: PKNY June 19-21

I don't have a car, and can only go if I get a ride Saturday  :-\
