Well, welcome back! I've been pretty inactive too, but I'll get back into it soon.
Haha, good luck!

Ended up sick for a while this morning, then slept it off during US History >_>
Got out to... sort of train with a friend at a park.

Women / Re: Feeling a bit discouraged...
« on: March 13, 2012, 05:18:35 PM »
Hey gals! I've been training for about 6 months, and I feel like I've made very little progress. I have a background in dance, but pretty much nothing else involving sports/physical activity. I train with primarily guys, and I often feel left behind because I have little upper body strength (I've been doing a bit more weightlifting) and thus have hit a plateau.

Basically, I'm just asking for advice on whether I need to focus on modifying the technique, continue to strengthen my upper body and then focus on technique, or if I just need to change my mindset. Any advice is welcomed and appreciated!
You summed up what I've been feeling for the past few months.
I took a break for a few months, and I'm just now getting back into it.
Remember, relax, play and have fun with it. I think that, if you feel it isn't floating your boat, take a small break, then get back into it. Maintain your upper and lower body strength during your break though, or else it may be a bit harder to work back to where you were.
Just my two cents.

How you treat people, especially her.... how you carry yourself... confidence... humility... the ability to protect her whether she needs  it or not.
Summed up my thoughts perfectly.

Also, be sure to use your arms for momentum when you jump. It helps a lot.

A video would definitely be helpful in determining whether you are over rotating or under rotating.
Are you landing on your butt or on your knees?
If you're landing on your knees, you need to tuck harder to rotate faster.
If you're landing on your butt, you need to rotate slower.

If I'm wrong, someone please correct me. :P

My grandfather is going to the hospital tomorrow morning for his second heart surgery :/ They're not certain if he'll make it... To those of you like him that are religious, play keep him in your prayers. And to those of you like me who aren't, keep him in your thoughts <3 It'd mean a lot :/
Are we related? O_O
My grandfather went in for heart surgery this afternoon as high risk. He made it out though!!

Grandfather is in the hospital, apparently his heart is barely beating from too many blockages. His heart is too weak for surgery. They're going to see what they can do today.  :-\
