Yes, it relates.  Read between the lines mo fo!

I am gonna stay old school and refer to Parkour as freerunning.  Screw all these definitions and labels.

because of work and responsibilities, I can only do it 3 times a week.  Even on those days, I prefer some of that time to be used in the gym or other activities, but 90% of the time its at least 2 times a week for at least 3 hours a day.  Oh if only I would have started younger!  Ah, but at least I'm in good enough shape to do it now.   8)

You know Skippy-buddy.  I agree with ya there, I have come to realize that I feel more comfortable here explaining myself, then I ever did on the UF forums.  Here, I feel, and though some people may, but its less likely that someone is going to flame me or bash my thoughts, just because it doesnt fit their own lifestyle or thinking.

So, when I start doing PK for Beer adverts, I am sure all of you will accept the fact that I am ALL for drunken PK!

hahah    you see...that there was a joke.   ;D

It does matter in the presentation of the word, this I understand.  So I can see that in some cases calling someone "Newb" can even be meant with endearment.  Such as "Hey here is my little brother Jimmy, he is a newb at ______ but he'll be kicking ass soon"

and then there is  "You dont know what  ______ is?  you are a newb!"  you get the idea   ;D

But I understand what yer getting at also.

Well M2, I hope it goes well for you in your endeavor to do what you love, for a a means of living.  I have always been one who would also want to profit off of Parkour or some other sport and with my recent contacts, those who have experience in stunt work and other various ways of commercialization and acting, I hope that one day I will also be one who can do what I love, and profit from it.  I'd give you hints of where I plan to go, but I wouldnt want anyone to steal my ideas (har har)

So my best of luck to ya on this.

Suggestions - What can we do better???!!! / Re: Frontpage design
« on: December 15, 2005, 09:34:16 AM »
I actually wanted to make a comment regarding the website.  I think it looks good, like a real sports page, as in if Parkour were to be a main sport, the webpage would have to look like it.  I think it has a good feel about it.  Professional and all.  Good job on it guys.

(to all those who don't want to think of Parkour as a "sport"  I meant no disrespect   ;) )

My problem with the UF forums isnt the actualy Seidojin.  I have a problem with the fact that everyone is so quick to flame or insult you for any little thing you say.  It's kinda dissapointing to see that one of the most prominent Parkour websites has to have such childish tom foolery and crap posted on their forum.  But hey....welcome to the internet   ;D

Oooh.  That kinda sucks, because my team still uses the word "freerunning" in the definition of doing Parkour, instead of frpk.  I guess we are old school  haha.  Well...thanks for clearing it up anyway.   ;)

who practice parkour also seem to enjoy, whether it's tricking, free running, acrobatics, or whatever

Now M2, if anyone can explain this to me...I'm sure you could in a respectable manner, and I don't mean to "hijack" this thread, but what exactly is the difference between "Parkour" and "Freerunning".  You see, I was always under the assumption that these two words were meaning the same thing, but that "freerunning" was more or less the Americanization of the word "Parkour".

So, if you can explain, or point me in the direction to where I may gain such knowledge, I would appreciate it.  :)

Though if someone calls me noob, I am not generally effected, but I see this as a derogatory statement only.  A better term for a beginner would be Novice.

In my standpoint and by seeing how the word "noob" has been used all the time, is such a term as an insult to someone for their lack of knowledge or understanding, or in some cases for having a different Point of View.

Well..I can't say I know what EZ is planning on doing at this time.  I think I saw some of your posts on there...yeah, they are gone now.  I wonder what they have to hide.  I don't understand why everything with them has to be so top secret and elusive.

Of course, I think all of this, then I say..."so what?"  In the meantime, I'll be out there practicing for myself and my improvement.

I never would have thought a year ago when I first started doing Parkour, that all of this crap and arguments could derive from something that is supposed to be about being free and moving about in your own way.

But what can I do?  I'm just a dirty pirate hooker who in the eyes of the masses, knows nothing.   :P
