Pennsylvania / Re: Penn State (unversity park) Parkour

Hi there. I know this topic is really old, but I heard some things recently. I heard there was a local group in the State College area that meets? I'd be interested in getting more info. Just shot me a PM or something sometime.

Hm, we need to get organized, lol. Or else nothing, as it seems, will get accomplished. Let's get something set up here for us all.

I live about 30 minutes from Dickson City. However, in 2 weeks I'm heading to State College, PA. If you want to meet up a few times, however, I'd be willing.

Just as an update, in 2 weeks or so I'm going to be up at State College, PA. If anyone would like to meet up or something sometime, please do contact. I'd love to get some training group together up there. I'm still a newb (Haven't gotten around to doing any training due to a strong lack of motivation), but having some people to hit up some training with would be a great motivator for me.

Not sure what the F.Y.S.E. is, but I intend to be a Comp Eng major. I'll be in the south halls. Most of my free time will be after about 3 probably on most days. I'd have to look over my schedule again though.

Adam: In Allentown?? I've been down that way a number of times! Just hit me up with info and I'll see about coming down once in a while! I'll need an address and stuff, but that's great!

June 22, 2009:

Squats: 40

Push-Ups: 20

Sit-Ups: 40

Walked outside for a bit, didn't record it though, due to a bad mood. Walked around the mall looking for a friend for about half an hour or so as well.

Yay for improvement though! Pushed myself a little harder today. I should keep on keepin on!

Parkour And Freerunning / Re: Training on your own, some tips?

But, I continue to work out and train. Unfortunately, the past 2 weeks have been incredibly rainy, and I havn't been able to actually try anything out yet.

It's been pretty much the same way where I live. On and off pouring for the past week and a half to two weeks.

Parkour And Freerunning / Training on your own, some tips?
« on: June 21, 2009, 07:50:42 AM »
So, I've been getting some conditioning done for parkour, but lately my motivation's been pretty low. This is mostly because I don't know anyone around that might even be interested in doing some training and stuff with me. I've asked a friend of mine if he might be interested, but he hasn't gotten back to me in a few days and I'm not feeling very hopeful about that. If that ends up falling through, I guess I could either just keep trying through the rest of the summer until I hit college.

What I'm asking for really would be some advice for training by yourself and staying motivated. I'm not the kind of person to get motivated easily though... But I do want to keep going. I suppose I could drive down the 3 hours to Philly if I really had to sometime over the summer, but it would be nice to have some traceurs close by.

So, might as well start logging what I'm up to. Now, I've never actually done any sort of workouts outside of high school gym class, so bear with me here. I've only been sticking with basic exercises that I know. I've seen a lot of different exercises while browsing around the site, but there's so many that it rather intimidates me at this point. Anyways, here's the little that I can do and my current goals.

:Edit: I'm 6'1'' and about 160 lbs. Thin build.

June 20, 2009:

Squats: 40 (could have maybe popped out a couple more)

Push-Ups: 15 (couldn't possibly get out another)

Sit-Ups: 30 (could have maybe popped out a few more)

Squats: 60

Push-Ups: 30

Sit-Ups: 50

Get some sort of bar to do Pull-Ups and such on. Got nothing right now.

As soon as it stops raining for once for the past week, get some running done.

If anyone's got any advice they could give, that'd be great.

FAQ / Re: Food for a nutrion newb?

Well, mostly just to keep healthy really. And perhaps also to promote some muscle growth as well. Skinny enough already, heh.

FAQ / Food for a nutrion newb?
« on: June 19, 2009, 06:37:54 PM »
So, I read through the nutrition info on the site and, well, I was wondering exactly what sort of foods I should get. Being 18 and living with my mom, I'd like to be able to tell her what sort of foods to start getting me. We've never had the most... Nutritious meals. And I'm not very good at estimating measurements for portion sizes. Not to mention the most I've ever made was perhaps boiling some noodles.

So, I'd just like to know some easy(ish?) stuff to make for a while till I get a bit more confident in my cooking skills. I'd also like to know some specifics so that I can make up a good grocery list too. I'd just like portions for a single person, and I could scale them to more people in case the rest of my family wants to try and learn from my example, heh.

Also, I'd like to try to eat fish too, I like sushi, but I don't trust myself that much, heh. What would you guys recommend?
