Parkour And Freerunning / Re: Should i join gymnastics?

Joining gymnastics will help tremendously in breaking your fear of flips (not to mention it's a lot safer too). On top of that you'll gain a lot more flexibility and strength. I see no negatives to do this so go for it, man!

It's easy to say things like "I'm too old" and "I can't do this" sometimes. Society has told us as we grow older our bodies become weaker and the best times of our lives are behind us.

That's wrong. WRONG WRONG WRONG! Nothing is stopping yourself now except yourself. You got this, man!

Voodoo boards? I don't think I've ever heard of it unless you're referring to Ouija boards.

March 12th I am so going to try to make it to Atlanta for this.

I was looking to get a Hero 2 today but this confirms that I want one badly! Did you get the Helmet Hero edition? Sick video by the way!

I can't stress how important visualization is. If you can picture yourself doing the move then you will be a lot more confident when you begin to attempt it.

Also, check out some tutorial videos

I did some looking and do not think this is a meme. I see it's from 9Gag and people do photos like that all the time (they zoom in on a specific person and the last frame of the picture is the person photoshopped onto someone else).

Hope that helps :)

I think Ian said it nicely.

I would like to add a bit that I say to people when they say parkour seems "pointless."
"Does kicking a soccer ball, throwing a football, or golfing seem useless to you? It's all about perspective. It's something that I enjoy doing like any other athlete enjoys what they're doing. It doesn't have to have a certain point other than its fun for me."

Of course parkour means so much more to us, but I think keeping it simple like that warps things into perspective for people who are scared of what they don't understand.

I have been stuck in a rut for a while now. Sure, parkour has given me a lot of release and I have grown as an individual, but I still feel like I am missing something. Working 40 hours a week and attending college gets stale after a while.

At work I found a magazine that had the top 100 most beautiful locations in the United States. I then realized that I have never been to another state (except Chicago when I was younger). I have a huge passion for exploring and viewing the world and I would love to be able to visit at least one location this year... and now I have the chance.

This summer I may be getting a small lump of money ($700-$1000) and I am going to use it to visit at least one location in the US. Even if I am gone for 3 days I want to experience what life has to offer.

This is where you guys come in. What are some of the most beautiful and amazing locations in the US to visit? I'm not talking about cities or towns but nature (woods, waterfalls, maybe small towns surrounded by mountains, ect). I know this sounds cheesy but I thought you guys would have some ideas and be able to provide insight.

Thanks for your time!

Winter is a perfect time for conditioning as well. Get strong and when summer rolls around you'll be beast!

I'm feeling better, guys. I did some tuck planches today, and to my amazement, I can hold them longer now due to losing about 6 pounds (went from 156 to 150) :) Thanks for all the support, fellas.

Rock on, brother! You have all of our support.

That was so hilarious!

Thanks so much Josh. As I was leaving the hospital today I noticed some stairs.. I could get on the roof with a simple vault. I was like 0.o

Haha nice! Be careful about those rooftops ;)

Let me say one other thing. I took three weeks to learn landings and rolls. So I want to move on to some other things.

Rolls are still a little iffy. But the other day I tripped and I went into a perfect roll without thinking. It's nice.

Anywho, I learned to land quietly and roll.

Is there places that doesn't allow parkour?

Very awesome that you took three weeks to learn the landings and rolls! Kudos to you! Pretty much any sign that says "no trespassing" is generally a good indication that you don't need to travel in that area. After all, there are many other spots you could be training at. I would start off and see if you could get permission to train at schools or a nearby campus. Those are pretty good areas with a lot of rails and training spots. Also, you can never go wrong training at parks!

Slowly you will come to figure out that you will spot locations more easily. I think people refer to this as "pk vision" from time to time! It's almost like a super power because you find your mind more creative and more open to possibilities. You really see the world around you as a completely different perspective over time! Good luck!

If you haven't notice you can rate a person by [+1] or [-1] and it shows below there avatar. Karma really does nothing, but I do remember it caused some controversy a year or two ago in the forums.

So when did karma come back and what do you think about it?
