National Jams / RDV3 and Quebec?
« on: March 20, 2012, 08:08:06 AM »
Hey, my name is APEX and I am trying to go to both American Rendezvous 3 and the Quebec City Jam soon after.  Me and my brother-in-law are going to be there @ RDV3 but need a ride to Quebec.  Is anyone out there going to both RDV3 and Quebec and if so do you have a couple extra seats?  We're willing to split gas and we're looking for a ride back through Columbus.

If anybody can help, please send me an e-mail @ apex4parkour@gmail.com
or give me a call, (I probably wont answer but leave a message): (319)573-6676.

Peace out, APEX.

Hey drDanger,
My name is apex, and I teach a Parkour class at the iowacity field house gym.  It takes place on Thursday evenings from 8-930 pm. It's free of charge, but be warned, we work hard and do a fair amount of conditioning. But we also keep it fun!  You do not need a university ID card, though you probobally have one, you just walk in and tell the person at the front desk that you are there for open gym. I hope to see you there!

Ps I hope I'm not too late, I have just recently started checking the forums frequently.

Sincerely APEX

Parkour And Freerunning / Re: Music while training? If so, what?
« on: April 08, 2011, 11:00:43 AM »
I like to listen to music when I train, (strict conditioning training).  I have the regular iPod headphones with attachments that keep them in my ears.  However when I am with the "cons" and people who yell and can't go one open gym without hurting themselves I put the headphones in but don't turn them on.  It keeps people from talking to me but  I can still focus on the item at hand, the movement.

When I do listen to music, I listen to everything from Disturbed, to Nat King Cole, to Mozart.  It sucks because even if I wanted to put it into speakers and listen to it as background music, I'd get laughed down,  :-[

Movement is the point.  Not music.

Hey, does anybody know if you absolutely have to be 18 to participate in the ADAPT certification.  I am trying to sign up for the one in Ohio, but I'll still be 17 for about a week more.  Also does anybody know how much it would be?  (Either for present of future information)

Thanks, APEX

FAQ / Re: Back problems, should I chnage my techniques?
« on: May 20, 2009, 08:47:40 AM »
I have back problems I know it is muscle.  When I am landing though am I supposed to  bend my upper body down to meet the ground, because that might be the problem i am having,  and if it is the problem how do i fix that so that it doesen't hurt my back when I land.

Injuries - Discussion / Re: Ah my back.
« on: May 20, 2009, 08:34:55 AM »
I have been doing parkour for some time now and for the last few months my lower back hurts when I train.
I know it is muscle but I don't know if I should rest it or make it stronger (but keep it flexible)

It is my erector muscles.
