Title: What skinny jeans are good for parkour?
Post by: Conner Irvin on November 17, 2014, 08:25:59 PM
I have seen Jesse La Flair wear them a lot, its his trade mark basically and then I saw Pasha's latest video of him in new york and he also was wearing them. I want to know what brand of skinny jeans are the best for parkour I heard they are stretchier than other kinds so they don't restrict movement. Does anyone also wear them for training and if so what brand is it, Levi, American Eagle, Etc

I wear skinny jeans, drop crotch, and parachute pants. they are all comfortable but i mainy stick to drop crotch. Sorry for getting way off topic but it really depends on where you live if you live by a rue21 you can get stretchy jeans for a good price i honestly like Carbon jeans because they are not constricting and hey if you have seen Jessie videos check out 9lives Christmas suprise that is me!

No jeans are good for parkour. Jesse is a f#cking masochist who does two shins on rail shin slide. Skinny jeans is the least he could do to himself.

its all opinion, personally i feel fat in skinny jeans because i have thick muscular legs.
IMO sweatpants are overall the best in
:mobility
:protection
:flare
:comfort
You can train in just about anything, some pants work better for others.
My logic is the more X's you have in your XXXXXXL sweatpants the better the traucer/freerunner. :P

Just buy skinnys with spandex in them. So that way the stretch but won't be as restricting.

Im definitely not a fan of men wearing womens clothing i.e. skinny jeans but at the same time I always think about the ridiculous things Id wear out to clubs & parties back in the day...Those darn kids today What are they thinking So it went from extremely baggy to extremely tight....what are you gonna do. Next year people will probably dress like the cast from happy days. If anything it keeps things interesting, right?

To be 100% honest, sweats or track pants are much better because they don't restrict movement, but I have trained in "skinny jeans" ( they're technically slim straight or tapered but I have thick legs so they look like skinny jeans on me) because I normally wear them when I'm not training and I didn't have any problems with them, my favorite jeans to train in are Wrangler Jean Co. slim straight fit jeans from Walmart because they have good stretch and are pretty durable.
The main thing you should do is give the jeans a tug to see how stretchy they are, if they don't stretch, don't buy them.
If you don't mind wearing women's clothes, women's jeans are often made of stretch denim that has spandex in it that should make them super flexible. I never tried them but they seem like they would work well.

Yea I am not going to wear womens jeans lol, but the reason for skinny jeans is whenever I am out and about and need to dress a bit nice and if I find a spot I am ready to go:) But I have seen Jesse and Pash and lots of others who wear skinny jeans so I cant be bad the website TheClymb has some pants I am going to get for parkour/out and about.

I'm still a noob but personally, I think that skinny jeans will inhibit movement and make things more complicated than they need to be… Also, why get a potentially $30 pair of jeans where you can get four pairs of sweatpants for the same price of the jeans at Target?

It's quite simple. If it impedes/restricts you, it's not ideal. I hate baggy clothes because they snag easier. Tight clothes bind/restrict movement.

I wear fitting sweatpants (Medium, in case you're wondering) or combats. Combats are designed to be hard wearing, so survive sliding etc better, and at least in the ones I wear (Helikon) non restrictive.

Good point on the snagging part

I think you can wear whatever you want but some cloths will limit your movement(like skinny jeans).

if your planning to get chased around by tigers in skinny jeans train in them, but I would recommend starting from scratch if you train in them.
