Title: Whee kong! (ow clip flail splat)
Post by: Christopher Dolan on March 07, 2013, 12:10:02 PM
I have real trouble with any face-first vault. As a gorilla, I've got legs and legs to spare, so it's a challenge for me to clear an obstacle when konging. As often as not, when training it, I'll clip my toes or otherwise fail to get my feet under me before landing. I've been training this at Tempest Freerunning Academy exclusively on plyometric floors with soft block obstacles, but I can't get down there as often as I'd like, so I want to at least gain the confidence to train it over low walls surrounded by grass.

Any other gorillas out there had this problem and overcome it? I could use some advice, but since I'm sure my block is more mental than physical, what I really need is some confidence!

try to keep your hips higher than your shoulders are and it will be a breeze
