I could not read this at all. Had good energy, though.

That being said, no, parkour is not height restricted. As parkour is about adaption, it might simply change the way you go about conquering specific obstacles, but that would be about it.

...I agree with Kyle. Punctuation makes long paragraphs readable.

And I also agree with Mike. There is no height restriction. Concentrate on your "Sense of Touch" and you'll be perfectly fine, even in to your tall years.

I happen to be exactly 6' 3", and I do not feel that I am at any advantage/disadvantage compared to any people of other heights. Sure, body composition and body type affect the way you move, but everything can be adapted to work harmoniously with the way your body works.

And even if height does make it harder, how lucky are we to have the extra challenge of controlling our bodies? Everything is an obstacle, man, all you have to do is find the way over/under/through :)

There definitely is no height requirement or limit. I'm 1.65 meters tall (about 5 foot 5 inches) and age 19, so I'm pretty short for my age. Parkour is adaptation and being able to find natural movement for the individual.

What about on the short side?
I'm a chick who is 5'0"... well, maybe 5'1" on a tall day... and I really want to get into Parkour. Is that too short?

simply due to your reach

I've been training an adult girl who's 4'10-4'11" for the past two years. So far she's been doing pretty good, better than a lot of the guys I train.

no way dude. i know a guy who is bout 6 foot 4 inches and he is a beast. u just need to stay in shape and practice and get used to the way ur body moves naturally while doing parkour and u should be fine.

As I'm completely new at this, are there any obstacles I should be aware of and tips for working and training around/through them?

No height requirement. I got into PK with a friend that was around 5'4'', it was just more difficult for him to get up walls.

Bro, there's no height problem. I know a kid who is 6 foot 5 that does flips and shit. The only reason you don't think it's possible is because he said it isn't. Anything is possible man, believe in yourself and you can do anything! Just learn the stuff as fast as you can and stay fit. Don't work out to get buff, do a lot of reps and you'll be fine. Trust me, I know a few tall people like you; don't worry, bro, anything is possible if you set your mind to it. Plus you now have a goal of proving your dad wrong. In the end he will be proud of you. My dad was.  :)
Fixed/me wipes sweat from brow

I think that made it a bit easier. I tried not to change anything you said, just to put better grammar to it. I agree with most of it but you don't really want to rush learning the movements. Try to progress safely and slowly, taking your time to master the basics.

I'm 5'11 3/4 being tall means you can reach stuff a shorter tracer might have trouble reaching.

as for the sort people meet Wolf http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_OCb1KNbK0 I've seen better videos with him in it but I can't seem to track them down

I'm 6'3" and 220 pounds. And I run as fast, jump as high, and vault just as well as the smaller guys I train with. Front flips, back tucks, side flips; I can do them all. If anything its easier for me to reach the higher wall passes.

I'm 14, sort of flexible, and 5 Ft. 8 In. too. Don't worry. It's not about your height. It's actually an advantage if you want to get up a tall ledge or something like that.

Dude you forgot a "," after plus.

Dude, you forgot a "," after "Dude."

That said, I'm 6', and have had no difficulty training, just stay in top shape, and you'll be fine.

Also the comma after "plus" isn't entirely needed. It probably should have been there but I was more worried on making it readable, not giving it perfect grammar

You might actually be too tall if your this guy.. http://www.thetallestman.com/images/baoxishun/baoxishun%20(8).jpg

Then again, you might be able to just step over walls.

I'm 5'8" and short.

Same here. ...wait, WHO ARE YOU CALLING SO SHORT THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN SEE HIM WITH A MAGNIFYING GLASS??!!!

Seriously, if you take out external factors, there aren't any height restrictions to human movement. If you've got legs, arms, and a head properly connected to a torso, you can move. It's not like they plan spots out with the average human height... well they do, but not so we can train on them. It's all about adapting your movement to the environment, it's what everyone has to do, being tall or short doesn't make it any special, it just means your movement will sometimes be different from others. Instead of vaulting a rail, you may be able step over it. Instead of crouching under a gap, you might have to dive through it.

Hey mate, listen to all of these guys.  They're all right (as far as I can tell).  I'm 15 and about 5 11 or so and I'm going to be about 6 &1/2 feet tall.  There are plenty of traceurs out there who are over 6 feet tall.  Your dad can't argue with that.
