Hey there,

My name is Mike and I live in the South Nashville area. I am pretty much brand spanking new to Parkour. In highschool I was way into "freestyle walking" before I even knew Parkour existed. I am very interested in learning more and meeting/getting adivce/training with other traceurs. I've been having a little bit of trouble finding others who interested in Parkour in my area so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I finally met some more people in Memphis.  I met them through dance and they're both really fit.

Hoping to make a vid but I think they want a couple more impresive people to bring us up to 5.

Ronikin, MTSU has a parkour "club".  They have a facebook group that you can find them on easily enough.

Howdy folks.   Just thought I'd pop on over here.   I'm just starting to get into parkour, though for the moment really just conditioning myself and trying to get into some sort of shape first.   I'm over 30 and have more than a decade of smoking to work off, so I'm just taking it easy right now.

Where am I from?   I'm from West KY, by way of central IL and a bit of MN.    Where I'm at now is Oak Ridge, so pretty much might as well say Knoxville.

well let me know what weekends you are free up in knoxville, there a quite a few guys that are wanting to get a jam together so im in the process or trying to figure out when a good weekend is
Title: Re: Introduce yourself
Post by: Blubbernaught on September 02, 2007, 10:16:46 PM
I work graveyard shift and pretty much most weekends, depending on what time of the day the jam is scheduled for I might be able to swing it but it's hard to say.   I'll definitely keep an eye out for any jams scheduled, though right now I'm not really in any shape to do more than watch and tag along... haven't even REALLY started training yet.
Title: Re: Introduce yourself
Post by: Jamie Crosby on September 03, 2007, 10:46:20 AM
well its always good to see new up and coming traceurs in the area. If you ever need help with anything dont hesitate to ask me
Title: Re: Introduce yourself
Post by: Blubbernaught on September 03, 2007, 05:34:28 PM
Thanks!

As I said I'll keep an eye out for any word of jams around here, I would love to get together with folks and have fun.   Got a long way to go before I can keep up with anyone though, my main focus right now is trying to just improve my overall physical condition.

It's definitely encouraging to see someone as active and enthusiastic about getting things going as you seem to be, J.   Seems like every thread in the region has you popping in and offering to come out and jam.   Hopefuly something can be put together in the not too distant future, since it seems like jams are a lot of fun and I'd love to make it to one.  I'll be the guy curled up asleep after the first hour, shhhh....

Yo, I'm Summer a.k.a. Alphfie (18) and am I like the only girl on here? Yeah well, I live about 45 minutes away from Memphis--you might find me hanging around the more rundown parts of the city while training because abandoned buildings are the bomb-dizzle when it comes to training around here. Not only that, but I still haven't found any good gyms to train in. But yeah, I'm just starting pk/freerunning so any tips would be appreciated or if anyone wants to meet up, that's cool too. Thanks!

<repost>
erm... I'm polerin, aka Erin, 27 and in middle Tennessee.  Like others here I've had martial arts experience (9 years of TKD).  I am likely to return to martial arts after about 8 years off, and I'm looking at adding parkour to my skills for a more rounded self.  That and being able to move like that is just neat :)

I've just started this past week with conditioning and basic balance and technique (rolls/landings/balance)
</repost>

I'm not really interested in flipping, climbing, efficiency, and accuracy are what interest me.

What's up all, so I just started looking into Parkour, I want to get into it because of course it looks awesome and the physical conditioning is killer. I've been doing the W.O.D. along with the Warm-Up for a few weeks, I need to work on my flexibitly and balance before I hit the streets crazy style!
By the looks of it I may be a little old to really compete, I'm 29, but no one I know wants to try with me. So if there is anyone who's down hit me up!!
I live in the Antioch area, just outside of Nashville!

I'm Matt.  I'm living in West Knoxville and finishing my last semester at UT, so I'll be here for at least the next 5 months.

I only have a couple of hobbies.  I enjoy motorcycles and just about anything to do with computers.

I've been interested in Parkour for a while now but have never actually gotten into for whatever reason.  I'm in my mid 20's and I want to get back into shape before it's too late.

I plan to start training this week and I shall see just how physically unfit I am.

Hi,

My name's Red. (Nickname really.) I currently live in the outskirts of Morristown. I've been into parkour and similar activities for about 6 months. I'm pretty decent at it, but I want to go to the city and freerun. You see I live in the semi country/'suburby'neighborhood. So I can't parkour in my area. I first started training in my basement which was vacant after my older brother left. I trained myself with old furniture, which helped me pursue the dream of finally reaching the stone walls and concrete flooring of the city. I vault over dressers, wallrun off of a basement wall, jump and absorbing the shock with an old mattress. I have created a false reality of a dream still being chased, but trapped by the torment of not being able to express my freedom. I am alone with no one who has the same interest as me. I keep this a secret with the rest, but only to confess to those who do not know me. My passion for this art is beginning to wither, but will always be there, for that flame in my heart will never die. I'm quite young you see, and others say people who are young of age are not sure of what they truly want. I've never been more sure in my life. Nothing has made me so happy, so free, in such a brief moment. I have never been so confused on what I should do to fulfill this passion. But to wait for the privilege? No, dreams do not wait for the dreamer, I must catch them, but how is this done? My only goal in life is to find a way to touch the concrete, to scale a wall, live in freedom. Please help me with this.

Yo! Zak, Intermission, whatever you wanna call me. I'm looking to get into parkour, and I live in Jefferson City. I'm kind of a nerd, but I enjoy getting out, doing.. Anything. I recently turned 18, so.. Yeah. I don't exactly have a license, yet, so I'm having to walk everywhere and stuff until I get my license. Personally? I'd rather walk everywhere, but most places are way too far, haha. I'm looking to really get into serious shape, and along with parkour, I'm looking to also pick up rollerblading. Both are things I've really wanted to do for a long time. Send me a personal message or something if you're in the area, so we could hook up and hang!

Hi my name is Paul and I've watched so many free running videos and I've always thought it was so cool but I've never actually given it a try and I would really like to.  I live in Franklin TN which is pretty close to Nashville and I have been running Cross country and Track and I am in decent physical shape.

Hi ;D I'm Caleb, I'm 16 and I haven't done anything athletic in who knows how long. I'm in the Smyrna/Murfreesboro area.

I'm brand new to pk, so it'll take me some time to get in shape and get slightly decent.

Hey, I'm Adam (18), I literally have only been doing PK for about 3 days, heck I'm still on rolls lol.  Anyway technically I live in Powell but I go to Clinton, I'm right on the Knox and Anderson Co. border.  From what I've observed and after asking around some there's very little PK activity in my area.  So I hope to rally some friends and either find a group or start a fad in this small town ;D

Well I'd love to, but lack of job for gas money it's really unlikely at the moment, but yeah if I get the chance to head up I'll let ya know.

I'm Nathan from The "Nash-boro" area. I'm part of a pretty big community in Middle Tennessee (Like a team made up of teams!) and we're starting to train often. If ANYONE wants to jam or learn parkour at anytime, just let me know and I'll spill some details!

Hey everybody!  My name is zach and as far as I can tell I'm the only person that does parkour/freerunning in the Jackson/Memphis area in TN.  I'd love to find some other people to do some training with or just have some fun learning new stuff.

I'm 24 and I've probably been practicing parkour/freerunning for about a year and a half now.

my email is zachattack1986@hotmail.com
I'd love to hear from some people!

Hi I'm Bill,
I just heard about Parkour and want to start doing it when I get back to Clarksville (Summer, 2014). Until then, it will be basic drills and trying to find groups already practicing it in the Clarksville area.

I have a few friends of mine, also 15, who would love to meet up near the UTK campus next weekend. If you're interested, PM or email me!!
