Title: When you can't train you......
Post by: Prancer on April 21, 2009, 09:15:14 PM
So I pulled something in my leg, and the doc said to stay off it for about a week. What do you guys do when you can't train?

Do parkour in permahandstand mode.  :P

Nah, if I ever had that happen to me probably just play Mirror's edge or just do upper body training or just relax and think on what you need to work on.

That's what Livewire from UFF did when he got injured.  Now he's known for incredible precisions, etc. on his hands.  Not a bad idea at all.  When I tore my meniscus (right after I heard about parkour, around 5-6 months before I started), I kept up my training at the time (weightlifting) and modified it according to the doctor & PT's advice and what I was still able to do.

Work pushups, handstands, abs, etc.  Whatever you can still train.  Meditate.

Hope your recovery is quick!

P.S. When I'm not training, I'm at work, school, playing music or at a punk show!

Work that upper body! I was out for nearly 3 months with a knee injury, and in that time I worked a lot on my upper body and reached a few goals.
