Live in Mount Prospect and I want to learn
« on: May 07, 2008, 08:25:51 PM »
I've just made up my mind to set the time and learn what Parkour is about.
I just don't know where to start and was wondering if anyone in my area could help me out...

I don't think too many of the people in Chicago actually check the APK forums that often, check out http://chicagoparkour.net though, that's the main site we all communicate at.  I think there's a few in your area, I'm in Schaumburg myself.

I live really close to mount prospect. I'm not that experienced with parkour, but I can tell you this, get mentally and physically prepared. Work out and stuff sit-ups, push-ups, stretching, "the plank"(google it). This guy on youtube has a video of what he does for training and stuff www.youtube.com/parkourblog I get most of my experience from his videos and stuff so I suggest checking him out.

thanks people.
I just built some obstacles in my basement, and I'm practicing everyday.
Is like a little jungle gym down there now... Just having doubts as to what I should be practicing...

I built two little rails to practice precission jumps, a box looking thing to vault over, and a parallets to build upper body strength...
