Haha you're not going to like the answer, but...

Callouses!  :o  ;D

But really if you need some protection for your hands, i guess you could wrap them in something...? I don't think gloves would work..

Do you wear gloves in everyday life? Then relying on gloves in your parkour is not preparing your body very well bro.

It's better to roughen up your hands. You'll get scratches and blisters when you start, but it gets better.

I experimented with gloves when first starting, and it turns out that they only get in the way. Don't take my word for it, try gloves out for yourself.

gloves wont work. you wouldnt be able to feel how your hands are on whatever your using. you need that feel to become more experienced

No Gloves is the way to go bro. I used gloves for the first week (Fingerless) but it is soo much better without them. Your hands will get used to it and callouses will form on your hands and will prevent pain and cut's. So just keep training and you will get used to it.

Yeah.. I've been in Canada for a while, and gloves there in the winter are a MUST unless you want frostbite or.. well.. no fingers.  So finding a good pair with grippy stuff is great...  But otherwise, suck it up.

Gloves only weaken what you must make stronger.

Don't wear gloves. It takes away from Parkour.

You guys are all crazy. Knitted woolen mittens are the ONLY way to go! I ALWAYS wear mine while training or at a jam.

Gloves arent going to help you with anything but the cold. Go do pullups on a bar wraped in sports tape... that aught to give you decent calouses and rough hands pretty quick

When I saw this thread I immediately thought of Blitzball from FFX.

I used to think about getting gloves, but I decided against it because I wanted rough hands instead.  The game that my friend and I made (OC Tag) is amazing for tearing up your hands!  My hands are super calloused from it.

DONT WEAR GLOVES... i was climbing up a ten foot wall when i first started out  and went up to muscle up an the glove just slipped... busted my chin and fell down backward 10 feet... Hurt SO bad ... but didnt break anything.... take my word for it in the long run you will regret wearing gloves like i do now.

I think you should do whatever you want.  Try gloves out if you want.  You may or may not decide to use them in the future.

A traceur shouldn't just take everyones word for it.  Find your own path!

The only kind of gloves I would ever consider wearing would be the doctor style ones. You don't lose flexibility or feel, but you get some extra friction from the rubber, and they protect from little scratches, HOWEVER.

I have not nor ever will use gloves. My hand looks like a general plague area, but most things no longer bug me because of it. Use gloves and you'll just make yourself that much weaker and more vulnerable without them.

Your hands are going to get messed up in Parkour regardless.
