Wrong sleeping position can cause lower back pain. If you sleep on the right position and use good mattress which supports your hip, back, and spine perfectly, you never feel any back pain.

No doubt your resting position is lil bit wrong, you need to sleep on a soft mattress and opposite to pain side, my father also facing this issue and I personally know how much pain it is, Doc prescribe him a signature hybrid gel mattress, I purchased for him from Nest Bedding coupons, now he sleeps much better than anyone might have expected. I hope it will also work for you.
