Wrong equipment, or lack there of.
« on: January 10, 2008, 03:00:27 PM »
I got the WOD today:
L-sits
Planches
Handstands
Front Lever.

And I feel like many of the WOD's are geared towards those that can go to a gym and use the quipment there. I don't even have anything remotly LIKE a pullup bar that i could use to do pullups, levers, l-sits, etc.

So what can I do instead?

PS: The way I learned Planches is to get down in pushup position, but have [part of your arm and wrist on the ground, and pushup and hold it from there. Is this the way the WOD does them too?

You don't need equipment for any of those.

L-sits are when you are sitting on the ground, legs out infront of you, and then you raise youself off the ground with your hands.
Handstands you can do against a wall.
Planche you can do without any equipment, but if you want some parallelettes (i think I spelled that wrong), you can build a pair out of PVC pipe for < $10.
Front lever... all you need is a tree branch! (or a cheap $25 pullup bar

planche:

So you can do them with these paralellettes (s?), or on dumbells, or on the ground.

I think in order to "get up to it" you would want to lay on the ground and just press your hands into the ground, lifting your body up.

ACtually, you want to progress to the planche.
Frog stand,
Tuck Planche,
Advanced Tuck Planche,
Tuck Planche Push-up
Straddle Planche,
Straddle Planche Push-up
Regular Planchge. That might not be perfect but it'll work.
Frog stand:
Tuck Planche:
Adv. Tuck Planche:
Straddle Planche:
Work from the top down, being able to hold each for 60 seconds before you move on and try the next one.
