Wel, Ijust said I found a study by tufts Medical that didn't show that, and the "famous" kitten Carousel which didn't show that, but I guess if you want to insist ...

I don't think they're referring to the video game thing anymore. I think its more about what i said in my post.
In like a lion out like a lamb. . . world class.

EDITED - so sorry, think I only saw the end of page 1, this is in response to toeknee.

Here's a dissertation on the subject:

Sorry that it's really long, though (32 pages).

When I cited kitten carousel, I was referring to the fact that when compared to watching TV/movies/etc., video game play is most definitely an ACTIVE experience within a spatial realm.  If even the environment is made up, it tends to follow the general rules of physics as our own, because that's what the games are based on.  We get certain cues about velocity, angled turns, timing, and distance.  What I mean is that the video game allows for interaction at some level, so it IS an active experience.  "If I hold up for this long, the character takes this many steps, which is relative to this distance in the environment, and so if I hold it for this long, and strafe after this amount of time, I will successfully avoid the fireball that is moving at this speed toward me."  That's spatial awareness scaled to a virtual level.. the RELATIVE experience allows for an easier time judging spatial awareness in real life.  But, of course, actual experience is better.

You'll see in that paper that there's a lot of evidence toward an increase in hand-eye coordiation, motor control, and visual and mental acuity as well.

http://www.fmri.org/pdfs/(weber,%202006)%20fmri%20of%20violent%20video%20games.pdf <- This one is extremely complicated and has to do with fMRI scans during violent video game play, but it does go into how games like first-person shooters develop neuropathic networks in the brain, how neuron shape changes to reconfigure and make more connections with other neurons, which allow for a more complex spatial perception.

I loved the philosophy he was explaining. "It's only impossible because you've been told it is."

Even though it's not really Parkour, that was awesome.

Try this link, http://3run.nwps.ws/chase_armitage_xbox_master_your_environment.mov

If that doesn't work go to this site: http://www.3run.co.uk/
then go to the videos tab and do "save target as" (under the right click menu) for the "XBOX COMMERCIAL "SLIP""

enjoy

Ya can't wait to play a video game with chase in it when does it come out?
