Monterey / Salinas / Santa Cruz
« on: May 24, 2007, 04:23:02 PM »
I noticed a couple short threads on PK Cali with a few traceurs in the area looking for others but nothing definitive ever came of it. Since I'm from Monterey (and Corndogg was born in Salinas) I figure we might as well show some love. So if you are from the Monterey Bay Area, post here and let's start rounding the locals and organize!

You know there is a site dedicated to California parkour right?

It's pkcali.com. I'm sure you guys will find all the partners to train with there.
Whether you believe you can do it or you believe you can't; you're right.

I checked that site and it seems to be kinda slow plus no one from monterey/salinas/santa cruz is active on the forums.

Oh yeah I wanted to let anyone know that if they are ever in salinas a good spot to mess around at is hartnell college. i went there with my friend and he never did any free runing and he had a lot of fun. I think that beginners to experts of free running would have fun there. I was planing on goin back but i tore off my toe nail while skimboarding and have to wait it out a little while now. So i hope to see some people trying out the college.

I'm in Monterey for the next year and a half, and I'm a beginner without any real idea of where TO begin. Any training help, ideas on WHERE to train, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
Oh, and I can really only do it in the evenings and on the weekends.

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, PKcali is for California Parkour but most of the people are in Southern California. SFparkour is better for finding traceurs in Northern California.

thread seems dead but i  figured i might as well make myself known, i'm in the Santa Cruz area. i'm just coming off a serious back injury that put me out for a couple months and i want to get back out there. So anyone in the San Jose Santa Cruz areas please hit me up.
There's nothing wrong with anything.

PKCali is always being posted on every day. Not everyone is on the site all day but it is a great site. Like NoSole said it is mainly for Southern Cali ;D

STOP SAYING THAT! ;D It's not FOR people in Southern California... it just has more people from there because of the lack of sites like SFPK in SoCal. We're trying to unify to the State not replace local communities. By all means, sign up for SFPK if you live in the area! Heck, I signed up and I'm in San Diego! :P
