I've got a few questions (that probably apply to the other 100k threads as well) before I decide to participate and help with a few of these tallies/totals.

Does it matter which variation of that exercise you do? (For instance, this is the 100k Pull Up thread. Does it matter if you do normal Pull Ups, weighted Pull Ups, overhand grip, underhand grip, etc.?)

Are these numbers that forum users are posting the total number of reps of that exercise they did consecutively without stopping/resting, total # of most reps in one set, or total # of reps in that day?

Should we post a recorded video of ourselves performing that many reps of that exercise as proof that we did that many reps? (This is to make sure that the poster is not just b.s.ing/overexaggerating the number they put up.)

Edit: And what happens when we reach the goal of one of these 100k threads?

Doesn't matter what variation you use. Feel free to be creative.

The numbers people are posting are the total number they did. They may have just grabbed a door ledge and pumped a few, or they may be working out at a gym for 30 min. They just post the total number.

No need to post a video, we believe you, and even if you didn't do the pull-ups, the only person you would be hurting is yourself.

As far as what happens when we complete the goal, I don't think anything happens, it's just a goal that people are working on. Do we need a reason / just because / YOLO sort of thing.

Do any variation you want but it's cool to mention which you use. Especially weighted, fingertip, or other challenges. Videos are also awesome but not required.

Cool. One more thing, though, that I just remembered. Would it only count if they were done on that same day that you posted your addition to the total?

I actually was first ever able to crank out 20 regular Pull Ups on 8/7/14 ( ;D, considering this time 5 years ago, any Pull Up was just a dream to me, and I used to be the only kid in my elementary school P.E. classes who could never do a single Pull Up), and I did another regular 20 last week on 8/14/14. I even recorded myself with my phone both times, but out of fairness to the thread and everyone else, I don't know if reps from even the near past are allowed.

It's kind of subjective. What I'd say to do is just start contributing now including any pull ups you've done in the last week or so. From then on update whenever you do pull ups. If you forget to record it after a session just add it to the next time you post. It doesn't really matter when you record it, but I think it makes more sense to only count the pull ups you did after finding this thread.

Okay, you know what, I think I'll just post my most recent Pull Up tallies as regular text here. I've been trying to include my videos as attachments, and I even had them converted from .mp4 to .mpg, as .mp4s were not allowed. But for some reason, my entire posts still were not showing up on the thread at all.

And I'm not willing to start a whole new YouTube channel for myself just for a few videos that aren't even that visually catching, nor would I want to create my own YT channel due to safety/security issues. (I've noticed that some people tend to remember me because I'm easy to recognize. That might be okay for reconnecting with acquaintances from way in the past, but I'm not exactly covert mission material. I have to be careful of where and how I choose to show myself, as there are some times where maybe you don't want to be remembered.)

For this thread, I just stuck with normal Pull Ups. Nothing too fancy. Just regular, old-school, wide, overhand Pull Ups. I use one of those bars from Iron Gym that you can easily assemble yourself, then you just hang it on top of your door frame. No drilling, hammering, nails, or destroying your wall or ceiling.

I hope others take the baton soon. Of course there's no way I can complete this thread on my own, and we still have a long way to go on this and most of the other threads...

Fear not, for I have arrived! Time to put my procrastination to good use with pull-ups. Add 25.

Yup, it's still not letting me post non-YouTube videos. Not sure what's going on here.

Well, you know the drill.

08/28/2014: 20

76,550 + 20 = 76,570

Next week might be my last week I can do this for a while. The fall semester is pretty much here and it's back to the grind for many.

Ugh, darn, couldn't quite reach 20 in one set this time, so I did a few more sets to make up for it.

09/03/2014: 18, 9, 8, 5

76,570 + 40 = 76,610

All right, that's a wrap from me for this thread for now. Until next time...
