The best Traceur
« on: May 08, 2007, 05:20:38 PM »
So, who do you think the best Traceur is?  I know many of you are anti-competition and whatnot, but I just wanted your opinions.

In my view, the best Traceur is either Chase Armitage, or Cyril Raffaelli.

They make me go  :o

Free Runners maybe but neither of them really do all that much parkour.  I would have to say Blane.

LOL....OH my gosh. HEHEHEHEHEHE.  If you want people to answer seriously you should change your question (Traceur/Free runner).  Which...brings up a good question...that I must post right now.

Cyril is really just a stuntman.... a freakin badass stuntman, but im guessing hes not TOO involved with parkour. I would probably put my money on david belle if anyone though.

david belle FTW!

It makes me wonder how good Raymond Belle would have been at parkour if times were different and he was still young and alive today.

i mean how bad ass would it be to do INSANE parkour along side your dad!

Belle is amazing but his flow suffers in my opinion. It's just not smooth and nice.

I would have to say maybe Owen ;). His flow is flawless even if his so called stunts arn't as amazing. He does a mean cat though.

Not exactly, hes like a stick man. Power isn't always effective. I'm sure there are plenty of underbars Owen can do that Belle cannot, and all because Owen has perfect use of momentum. Belle rely's on strength.

You will never find someone better at parkour than David Belle.  The man has been training parkour for double, in some cases triple of most traceurs.  He can move through his environment better/more efficiently than any person alive IMO.  If there were a competion (which i really wish there weren't) and he competed (which I'm almost posotive he wouldn't), there would be no competition.  Just him making a bunch of other guys look silly ;).

Yea............

There are plenty more scenes in DB13 that have amazing flow to them. He looks like he is using alot of muscle, but with things like that kong to cat where he got mindraped (but still did it) you need to have a tremendous amout of muscle to be able to do that.

I think im gunna go do some pullups...................

flow? try http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrsZMVWAcz0 at 0:30

i don't think we should just naturally assume that he's the best because he's done it the longest, (and i think it's silly for us to argue about this) but david definitely has flow. i think it doesn't come out quite as much in his videos because most of the videos of him are more vertically-oriented--drops, climb ups, cathangs, that sort of thing, with not as many straightforward vaults. the chase scene in Banilieu 13 has some, and his movements are sick--as for lack of underbar ability, how about when he goes through the window above that one door? it's insane! and keep in mind that david ran with the yamakasi for awhile, and i don't think you can deny that they have flow and control.

that said, i'd vote david for parkour, and daniel ilabaca or chase armitage for freerunning. seb should be up there, i guess, but i've never really seen videos of him doing flips or tricks that are commonly associated with freerunning, so i don't know.

danny dosnt freerun though, he practices parkour. neither does chase. Chase practices "3run"

also how is davids "flow" suffering?

check that out, he's got some very nice "flow" in there. dont spread that vid too much though
