There is a mall on want to train at. Not inside the mall but on the roof of it. There is a parking lot that's on the roof, but not all of it is parking space. Do you think if I go up there and past the parking lot, on the other side where you can practice I would eventually be stopped. I heard there is no "no trespassing" so it doesn't say I can't do it. Do you think the cops will come.

There's snow on the ground and cold so I would just go there but to cold. Just want to know if you think the cops will try to get me off of the roof.

Saw it on google earth and looks like I can have some fun training up there.

Considering it's the roof, and you're training where people aren't generally supposed to go, cops can, may, and probably will stop you from training unless you explain the situation to them and see if you're allowed to train there in the first place. Prevention of troubles in the first place is usually a good idea.

Of course, there's usually not a 'no trespassing' sign, but even if you're on something like the roof of a bathroom building in a public park, cops will tell you to get down, irregardless of such a sign or not, and may make you train elsewhere.

Yeah I know the feeling of wanting to go places where no one else can, or does try to go but in the end doing freerunning/parkour shouldn't cause issues for others.

On a side note though, generally if you go far enough out somewhere, you can find old abandoned places to do this on, and even in the center there's still loads of oppertunities to do cool stuff just purely because we don't take the conventional way of getting around.

When I did parkour with a group of guys the other day we did lots of stuff but at one point were practising rolls on some grass patch and about 10 mins in we had a large audience watching which gave quite a thrill in itself!

In short, you can find fun without breaking the law or causing problems heh.

The excuse "I didn't know I wasn't allowed to be up here" will work only a few times. If you play stupid too much though it will come back around. The police document each person they stop, and once they ask your name, chances are you'll never get away with it at that location again. General advisory would say to not do it, one screw up goes quite a ways, and can mess with your future.
So long as I have parkour I'm okay.

I agree, training safely is the primary goal. Please stay off roofs especially if you're a novice.

the reason no one wants you on their roof is because if you get hurt doing an incorrect roll jumping from that height, you can sue for the medical expenses and other stuff. police are protecting the mall as much as you. stay off roofs

wtf is a novice?
Understand that this art has been created by few soldiers in Vietnam to escape or reach; this is the spirit I'd like parkour to keep. Its up to you to determine what is useful in an emergency situation, and what is'nt.

I am 16. and the roof top is pretty big. Plus because of all of the snow and cold weather I have not been able to even try it. I am a beginner. Besides the roof to what is looks I don't need to worry about the "height" issue. I am not jumping off of it. What I looks like I can do is wall ups, cat, cat to cat maybe. And rolls. Nothing looks extremely high. I will have to see.

In addition I have been practicing. Mostly precisions. Found a wall for wall ups. Practice rolls on concrete. As for vaults. Dash on my picnic table, I am pretty good at it. As for kongs I need to work on my approach. I am not diving but more bunch up in a way. As for the other vaults I am still looking for some training spots.

Alright. Its not a problem.
I will just have to wait to get a license and a car. Then I can go to all of the Jams that are close by and go to parks that I don't have to get a ride to.

Adding on to a closed topic: It's a general rule that it is illegal to be on any roof that you do not own.
