I'm just afraid to have to kick my legs in the air and dive like that.

yeah i had the same fear when i first started kongs. The best thing to do is practice kongs over an object that is low to the ground. then work your way up. or try them over teh same bar you monkey over. if you look at the very top of the screen you see a good example of a kong over a rail. try to look at where you're going to land while doing the kong. Keep your butt up as high as you can :D . thats all the advice i can give. try it out and tell me how it goes!!
I am the Egyptian Monkey

I've been trying it. It's pretty hard though.

Hmm, Ive almost hit my 1 Year. I think the official day is Jan. 15... the day i joined UF and began training. Ever since then its been quite a ride, and ive even gained some friends from it all. PK has helped me see the world a little differently, and the forums have given me a good laugh in between. :) So, to the next year, i hope for progression and know im bound to meet some new and fun ppl who enjoy this amazing activity as much as i do.

(i just found APK lol. It took me this long...)

It seems like everyone joined UF when they first started but I started around 8 months before I joined, is that odd?

a good way to learn kongs or monkeys for anyone who is having trouble, is to do them over the arm of your couch. that way, you can try just throwing yourself over and landing on the cushions.. that's how i learned. (and you don't even have to change out of your PJ's)

OK guys, I have to say, this thread is borderline trash now. If you'd like to talk about moves like the kong, please do it in the movement forum.

If you'd like to tell everyone how long you've been doing Parkour, put it in your member profile, that will last so much longer than this thread.

If you'd just like to hear yourself talk, go to another forum :P
