Congrats, now you just need to add more height, then change it into a kash vault.
So long as I have parkour I'm okay.

The kash vault has always annoyed me.  The hand pop is the most troublesome part for me because I usually end up slightly grazing my shoe soles oh the obstacle.  Is this vault good at all for distance or speed when mastered, or is it just something that stops you in your tracks when you could just as easily dash or kong it?

The kash vault just allows more substantial control for your exit, the monkey vault would really just require a constant speed. The kash vault can enable you to slow yourself down when done correctly, in case say a wall is on the opposite side of the obstacle.

If you don't know what a Kash vault is google it.

I remember when I first began training I started with kong vaults first and when a few months ago I came up to a rail and realized I'd actually never done a monkey vault before. I was actually scared to do a monkey vault because I was afraid I would clip my feet as opposed to the dive kongs I was used to doing haha.

I watched a video on youtube showing Kash vault, so it's like doing a monkey but with a little hop before? If not I have seen the wrong videos.

Notice how he/she pops his/herself up as though doing a monkey vault, but on the descent he/she places his/her hands down in order to push him/herself forward? That's the jist of it.
