A Call to the Magic City (Birmingham)
« on: April 09, 2012, 04:10:36 PM »
Fellow traceurs of all ages. Listen up!

My name is Chandler and I am a student at Samford University. Like a lot of you, I've been trying to find a group of traceurs here in Birmingham. I know you guys are out there, I've seen your posts. We've got everything we need to get a group together, but for some reason it hasn't happened yet.

Well, it's happening now. If you're a traceur here in the Magic City post that you're interested, your age, and whether or not you've got a car to get to the jams. If we get a couple of people, I'll set up a jam session and we'll go from there.

Don't be afraid to post on this even if it's been a couple months since the last post.

Hey I'm Cory, age 17(don't let age fool you), and I'm up in Decatur, so just give me enough warning in advance so I can make plans to be there. On Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Cory.Mason00 or by txt: 256-309-9767. I know I'm lacking in my skills but with a group I bet I would catch up in no time. I've introduced a friend to parkour recently and she might also be able to come sometimes.

As long as you're quick on the basic movements, you should be just fine. To be honest, I've never had much gymnastic experience so freerunning and tricking aren't really my forte, though I have been picking stuff up here and there. But I can kong, vault, climb, and roll as good as anyone, and if you've got that then that's all you need.

Honestly I can or probably can do all of those, I'm still working around the mental block though.

Hi, my name is Breanna. I will begin attending classes at UAB this August. I've recently gotten interested in parkour, but in my area no one's heard of it, let alone practices it, so I don't quite know the moves, but I'm in good shape and am a fast learner, so I would love to join you guys.

Hey so I'm really interested in starting parkour.  I live in Hunstville for half the year, And Alaska for the other. I really want to get with a group and practice often. I am new to this but I learn quick.  I have been practicing a little by my self, but I really need a group. Anyone in this area or even in Bham should hit me up.  I go there every other week and I could chill with you guys for a day or two. It would be so badass to be with people who are in this and could teach me.  My number is 1-907-398-1116

Jeff Patterson.  Just started training with Zach at UAB.  He explained the concept of a jam to me and I would love to attend some if they can get up and going.

I recently moved back to Prattville and would like to get back out and train a bit or help anyone that needs it.

I have been coaching gymnastics for about ten years now and been the head coach of a few men's programs in a few different states. I have also taught parkour and tricking from basics to advanced. Pretty much anything from safety rolls to corks. If anyone needs some help let me know.

Hey I'm 15 and I live near Birmingham. Looking to get into parkour, have been practicing at home for a while. I can do the basics: rolls, tictacs, vaults, wall climbs, etc. but have yet to learn how to flip successfully, front or back. Any jams going on in the Magic City? -A
