So I got the APK backpack for Christmas
« on: January 07, 2012, 09:11:54 PM »
And it's already come undone at the seems. I have not used it for anything except carrying some clothes. But I pick it up one evening and it's come unraveled and tearing already. Any way I can exchange it? It was a Christmas present and I like it, but this one is not holding together.

Adding this here so people see my response right away - M2

We will send a new one out right away, please send the old one back. That goes for both of you.

We'll be testing the bladders personally on each one before they go out. The test ones we got had no issues, and some of the ones we sent have had issues, so we'll be testing each one before it goes out, and then switching brands.

For future reference, sending an email to the store "Sales@americanparkour.com" would have been a lot faster than posting in the forums :)

Thanks!
M2

Was it the hydration pack? I filled it up and it leaked the very first time. Cap was tightly screwed on and everything.

Yeah, the hydration pack. Haven't even used the hydration part yet. But the bag itself is torn already.

TBH, I'm not sure if you can send it back. Have you checked the product store for a return policy?

American Parkour Returns / Exchanges Policy

You probably want to email Mark about this, to see what the course of action will be in your specific case. I'll notify him of this thread so that he takes a look at it, but you should probably email him yourself about it as well.

This email went out today to everyone who has purchased a pack:

Hello Everyone,
You're receiving this email because we have you on record as buying a Hydration Pack from APK. We've recently had a few reports of leaks in the bladder, and also the stitching coming loose on one bag, so we wanted to check with everyone to make sure your bags were OK. If they are not, we will be replacing them at no cost to you. When you buy a product from APK, it is APK's commitment to you that the product will be high quality.

The original bag we tested is the one that I use to carry my stuff to the indoor climbing gym 2X a week (for the last 3 months) and I personally haven't had a problem, so we felt testing was sufficient, however it obviously was not.

Please email me directly, please include your order number, the words "APK Hydration Pack", and any issues you have had with the bag, along with whether you would like a replacement.

If you purchased the pack as a gift, please forward this email to the recipient.

We apologize sincerely for any problems you have had with these hydration packs and will strive to test better in the future!
Keep Training,
M2
