365/366 Days of Parkour
« on: January 02, 2012, 05:28:47 AM »
January 1st 2012- I started my journey to improve my skills. I went to Temecula Middle School with a good group of the Temecula Team. We went all the way around the school in a big circle on the roof tops. I noticed that when I started I definitely needed a bit of a warm-up. My balance is pretty horrible too, as well as my finger strength. I'll need to work on that this month.

P.S.- Heights still bother me a little.... gotta get used to that! XD

Day 2- January 2 2012- I headed for a local park with my brother Merlin and his camera to work on balance and precisions. We scouted the place out a little before taking pictures and videos. We took some boss photos when it started getting dark. I'll be sure to post the videos on my YouTube- http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOwlTowel/videos  as soon as I can. In the last couple of minutes I decided to do some power stances. Today was a good day that last for about an hour.

Month 1- Week 1- Day 3- January 3 2012: Today I was really busy and so was my brother Merlin. We decided that today was going to be a short day since we started soo late. We took a little walk into our backyard and did a little workout on our brick wall as well as take some awesome pictures! (Mostly of me... or all of me XD ) after about ten minutes or so we finished our 3rd day out of 366 days. :) I really like those pictures too!!! Thanks BRO! I love you.

Month 1- Week 1- Day 4- January 4 2012: I went to DC Gymnastics for the first time in a long while. I spent around an hour there from 1pm-2pm. I worked on some balance, tried a couple of flips, and worked on vaults. I tried doing vaults with my non-dominant hand and I did a speed vault with it! :D I got home and did some wall push-up things on my brick wall. It's only 3:42pm so I'm itchin for a little more Parkour.

Month1- Week 1- Day 5- January 5 2012: I headed over to Temecula Middle School for a little bit at around 4pm. I conquered that precision I didn't do on January 1st! :D I also decided to run around on the rooftops a little and tried rolling on the concrete. I need to work on rolls still especially over my right shoulder. I'm soo much more comfortable up there on the roof!!! :) I could just live up there... well maybe not but I sure could spend a lot of time there! I was thinking today was going to be a lazy day since I had lacrosse from 10am- 12pm but I guess not. ^.^ Today was a good day... it could have been better if I had a photographer and some good footage taken that I could post.

Month 1- Week 1- Day 6- January 6 2012: I felt really lazy today for some reason. I also sorta forgot I was doing 365 for a second!!! XD I decided that I'd do some core workouts today instead of parkour. This will include push-ups, sit-ups, and maybe some pull-ups. I'll be sure to do my daily training earlier next time! :) PEACE! and may the FLOW be with you! X)

Month 1- Week 2- Day 10- January 10 2012: Since school started back up I have less opportunities to do parkour. I decided to do another conditioning day since that's all I really can think of which is easily accessible to me. I did some pullups, situps, and planks. (In order to plank you need to go into pushup position and hold it for a certain time. This can also be done with the forearms on the ground instead of just your hands.)

Month1- Week 2- Day 11- January 11 2012: Today I trained at TVHS with Ken and Landon. I did some flow as well as balance. After starting to get a little tired I went to work on my crane and do a jumping exercise. I need to start getting some good footage of this stuff so I can post my month video up on my youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheOwlTowel/videos

Month 1- Week 1 & 2- Day 14 & 15- January 14 & 15 2012: On the 14th I went on a nice run around 6:30pm. I got back home at like 7pm. Day 15 I did some more crunches. :)

P.S.- I either need an all time photographer or just need to learn how to take good pictures of myself with a tripod.
