Been going well. I've been decomissioned for 10 more days due to knee and shoulder injuries, but I'm ready for the Kong now.

I've been stalling near the edge of the table for some time, landing on my feet there.

Nom pointed out that at that point, my body should still be parallel to the table to let them through and so they don't force me to a stand on the table. I was getting set to try it out when doctor gave me strict orders to lay off for a few days (water in knee)

I'm going to resume training tomorrow and let you know how it goes

I study while stretching. Amazing how it keeps you focused. Maybe I'm just weird that way LOL

Still kind of a secret I've been introducing her into little by little. I tell her it's extreme Crossfit, but the other day I caught her looking at Adidas Urban Climbing shoes to get me for father's day.

Maybe she knows what it's about, but I wont consider her as "knowing" until I've shown her the first PK video (I'll make sure it's not one of those with high drops)

Actually "Speed Air Man" seems pretty decent.

She seems to be taking an interest in CrossFit, so now she's like "Yeah, but I don't want to do the vaulting stuff". Crossfit instructor is like... "HUH???" Yeap, it may be time for a brief introduction LOL

"Jump Westminster" or Julie Angel's "Outside In" are good ones to show her: JW shows Forest and Dan training kids in the UK, without most of the extremely extreme stuff. It's 28 minutes long, so may be better as a second or third video.

OI shows Karen Palmer - a traceuse. She speaks well [unlike Seb or David] and because she's a woman, that will help your wife relate. It's not just a "stupid guy adrenaline testosterone thing". See if this helps...

Awesome recommendation, Btay

May be 28 minutes long, but gets to the point after the first minute or two

Thanks, brudda!

(off topic, I know, but. . . )
there's also the Women's PK seminar this weekend at Primal.  I've noticed that, in general, the women who are interested in PK tend to be older than their male counterparts (and am an example of it myself), so we have to take into account many of the principles argued for in this forum: "if you don't use it, you lose it", injuries take longer to heal, you have to set reasonable expectations, scale exercises.  I encourage any 30+ women out there to check it out!
(and yes, we will be covering Kong vaults)

Amanda, if you haven't already, make sure you post this on the "Women only" section

Reawakening this thread for obvious reasons. Someone mentioned reading this post and congratulating me on my avatar... In case I ever change it, it features me doing a kong over a 3' high custom built obstacle

Over 2 yrs after my first successful attempt... migh how time flies!

helpful tip from a much more skilled traceur than me.
try doing squats all the way down, not leaning forward, not lifting the heels....
to develop and flex the hip and upper leg areas.
