What's the deal with the Ft. Collins parkour scene?
« on: August 24, 2011, 03:00:12 PM »
I just moved here to Ft. Collins and am starting my freshman year at CSU.

All I can find are old threads concerning the Ft. Collins scene. So what's the deal, guys? Where do CSU's resident traceurs meet?

If you find out, let me know. :p I just recently started training again after a knee injury.

If you're interested, classes also started up down in Loveland earlier this week.

Yeah I'm a freshman at CSU too and I haven't heard anything about parkour at all from anyone. We should try to get some people together or something.

Orchards Athletic Club in Loveland, every Tuesday night from 6-7:30.

Send me a PM if you want my Facebook/phone#, I'd love to have more people around here to train with.

@Robert

I think some girl in one of my classes said she did parkour and my roommate said someone in one of his classes also said she was into parkour. Other than that, I know nothing. Maybe we should start our own meetup group.

Sorry, we all had a pretty rough summer with work and various other things  :'(

I don't think any of us were able to get out running more than once or twice over the summer (and will be the same with school back now), but there are classes still being held at Mountain Gymnastics (419 East Stuart Street) every monday and wednesday nights 8:30 - 10:00.  They are run by Logan and are $15/class for drop-in or $72 for 6 sessions.

Similarly, there is a CSU open gym for college students held same gym, same times but on tuesday and thurdsday.  I don't remember the prices there, but I want to say drop-in is something like $5; 1x/week for a semester is $30 and 2x/week for a semester is $60 (I'm not positive though, so don't hold me to that).

okay so theres open gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays? do any of you guys go to them? I was looking for some people to train freerunning technique with me in a gym setting considering that summer is over and the window to train outdoors is quickly vanishing. I have decent parkour skills and I want to start doing some freerunning. What do you guys think? anyone want to meet at that gym to train?

Tuesdays are my Apex class-days, but I'm down for Thursdays (assuming I'm not working or something fail like that.)

I haven't been to an open gym in a while (school), but there's usually a few traceurs.  There's also usually some snowboarders, trickers and breakdancers, so you'll get a good variety of training tips and ideas

So just to let everyone know, the Parkour & Free Running classes on monday & wednesday at Mountain gymnastics are coming to an end.
There are still 3 more classes (10/05, 10/10 and 10/12) but that is all.

The CSU open gym's on tues & thurs are still going on though.
